Hi,
Lamp replacement is easy in KDS-50A2020 and written in user manual, check page-52 for details.
Open lamp cover on lower right side of TV, pull out old lamp and slide new lamp, put lamp cover back and turn on TV.

Hi , it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem.Here's how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo Basically there's 3 LCD chips that create the colors and image by blending together.When these chips start to melt you will get those blue spots, pixilation even vertical lines.You will need to replace the light engine. Have a blessed one!

ok so first of all handle these with care as they contain mercury . the lamp is located on the side there is a square panel towards the bottom of the set. open it and inside you will see a lever you will then flick it open and slide the unit out . take your new bulb and install it on the cradle and reverse steps you will be going in 2 mins flat merry christmas :)
