My Garmin 1350 is having problems. When I turn it on, it says press dot, and a little dot is on the screen. When I press the dot , it just moves to a different part of the screen. I did not drop the device, or damage it in any way. Have you heard of such a problem before? and/or do you have a solution? thanks in advance Edward

Give the screen a thorough cleaning with a soap and water cloth (NOT SOAKING) and allow to completely air dry. Then try recalibrating.

Garmin nuvi 205w gps black dot problem

Please be more specific. There is a calibration screen where black dots are shown and you press them to calibrate the touchscreen. Is this what you mean? If you press them and nothing happens, your touchscreen may have failed and needs to be replaced.

Touchscreen on a Garmin nuvi 1350 doesn't work. How do I fix this.

Try recalibrating it using the following method:

Nuvi 11xx, 12xx, 13xx, 14xx, 24xx, 25xx Series: Turn off the Nuvi. Place your finger on the upper left-hand corner of the screen and then push down on the power button to turn the unit on. Release the power button when the Garmin logo appears. Continue to press on the upper left-hand corner of the screen until you see the calibration screen. Press all of the prompted dots.

Once completed the Nuvi will display Calibration Complete

This will recalibrate your touchscreen to the LCD display.

If this doesn't resolves your problem. then your touchscreen may be defective and may need to be replaced.

Comes up with press dot screen nothing I do seems

Have you tried a screen calibration? Turn off the unit then press and hold the upper left of the screen as you turn it on. A dot will show up on screen and then press the dot firmly as it moves around the screen. When it is done it will say screen calibration complete.
I also assume you tried a reset by pressing the reset button or on the newer units just hold the power button while turning it on for about 15 seconds until it reboots.

My garmin nuvi 1350 LMT turns on to a calibration screen. it will not go to the maps home screen. how can i fix this

There should be a black dot to press on the calibration screen. Keep pressing the dot as it moves around the screen, you may need to press very firmly and use a stylus until it says calibration complete.
This usually occurs when a unit is dropped or left in extreme temperatures or jammed it a glove box or console with things jammed against the screen. It could also occur if you are touching the screen as you start.

Garmin starts loading maps, then screen goes blank

First do the master reset -Hold down finger in lower right corner of screen and press switch on button. Hold still until asking of erasing all private data appears. FAST click on YES.

If it doesnt work:
From www.garmin.com -cllick on SUPPORT -> SOFTWARE
Get webupdater and install it. Run it and you'll find button "Find device". Of course you can't because it does restart all the time.

Hold down finger in UPPER LEFT corner of screen and press switch on button. Hold still for about 10 seconds (GARMIN appears and nothing more) and fast connect the USB.
HOLD switch until icon of connected computer appears on the screen. After then device stops resetting.

Webupdater can find your device, and now you can put a new firmware by doing step by step instructions from webupdater.

My garmin 760 screen reads "press dot".

Hiya!

All you need to do is use a ds pen (or something that is plastic and will fit within the black dot) - our fingers are to big for the calibration. Ive just fixed mine. It should correct its self within 10 dots and away you go again :)
