My GE Portable AC (Model: ape07ahm1) blows cold air and then after about 15 minutes seems to blow warm air. If I turn it off, let it sit, and start it up, it blows cold again.

First make sure all a/c vents are clear from obstructions like curtains, etc. Also check exterior vents/hose of any debri. If all venting is clear, does the room eventually cool down? If not than component diagnosis may be necessary.

GE APE07AHM1 Won't Run

This unit has a famous problem with the control panel. Try to use the remote to turn it on, instead of the panel. I had the same problem.

Fan outside is blowing but nothing comming out of vents

Without knowing more information here are some quick checks. First check the return
vent and filter to see if it is blocked or clogged as well as the vents to see if they are open as well. I have seen filters in two locations in one home.

Second, if your thermostat has a "FAN"
setting, then try this and see if anything happens. If not then several things control the
fan itself. The fan relay, and the limits inside the unit.

The fan should turn freely by hand WITH ALL POWER OFF TO UNIT FROM ALL SOURCES.
If it is hot then chances are it has failed, If it is cool but turns freely by hand then I would
suggest replacing the capacitor first if there are no obvious broken wires or such.
Discharge cap to chassis and replace only with exact microfarad (MFD) ane equal or higher voltage.

My ge ac model APE07AHM1 is not blowing cold air. What could be the problem?

This is an old question, but I am having the same problem with APE07AHM1 that I bought second hand. I'd like to recharge it.

The answer by binev_78 seems to be for outdoor AC compressor units but this is a portable stand alone unit, no outdoor unit.

Stainless steel GE XL 1800 spacemaker works ok except the vent fan doesn"t come on when cooking, which gets to hot and shuts off. The fans work when you push the vent fan buttons and the vent covers...

So the fan motor's 21VAC winding is working. That's good.

But either the fan blade is loose on the shaft (a super glue fix) or the fan motor itself had failed.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

The fan motor is shown on the diagram there as reference # 78, part # AP3192806, located behind the control panel and adjacent to the magnetron.

I'm not sure you have to pull the oven from the wall to replace it, but if you do, the oven installation (& removal) instructions are included on the tech sheet inside the unit.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel, and it is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

You can also download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

If you don't find yours I can send you a copy, or if you need more help, feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number from the tag on the unit).

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Active vent keeps opening and closing though fan is off.

When the unit begins the never ending opening and closing cycle, turn the vent fan on for a few seconds and then turn the fan off. This seems to stop the active vent from opening and closing. If this is GE quality, this is the last thing that I am going to purchase. GE refrigerators are garbage and now I am having problems with a new microwave oven.

Outside venting GE Profile Spacemaker XL1800

Your vent flap could be taped or it could be faulty installation not allowing the vent to open. If you take the front vent cover off, you should be able to reach in above the fan unit and gently push the vent flap up, it should move freely with no binding. If it doesn't it is taped or blocked. If it is taped, gently putting upward pressure on the flap might release the tape. If that doesn't work the vent installation is blocking the flap. You might have to remove the unit from the wall (two people to do this) or disassemble the vent duct above the microwave and rework the interface for clearance.

hope this helps,
