I have a sharp carousel microwave. Model # R-1491. The problem I am having is it wont heat anything up. It turns on and acts like it is heating but it really isn't. I'm wondering if I need to replace a heating element or something. Please help!!

I really doubt that you can even get parts.

We would need to know the full model number from the tag in the cooking cavity or elsewhere on the microwave, such as the door frame, controller frame, etc.

Please post a new help request with that and more detailed symptoms, such as when it occurs.

When you hit "Start" to microwave, do the inside light, cooling fan, and turntable all come on?

Any unusual noises? Is it louder or quieter than usual?

We have a sound clip of what a microwave should sound like when the cooling fan and high voltage section are operating here.

The signs are not always evident, but from the description the magnetron has failed.

I found one for mind on the inside of the outside cover caseing. just need to unmount from wall and remove the six screws of the back to remove it.

You probably have a defective magnetron or blown fuse supply power to magnetron.

I also have the Sharp Carosoul oven, symptoms - fan runs, controls are fine but the turntable stopped turning and it did not heat. It was not the switches, fuse, but in fact a sagging door that misaligned with the door switches. The true cause was a warn top hinge. As a temporary fix, I adjusted the bottom hinge (3 screws underneath), straightened the door, and now it works again.

at highvoltage section wiring may bae problem, check wiring and connectrors of magnetron and capacitor and transformer.
