It was a little low when it was installed. They are coming back to finish charging. However the unit is not short cycling. It has been running fine now for almost 24 hours. But it will quit its just a matter of time.Thats what is puzzling them and me.Once it quits all there is to do is shut off the power and turn it back on.Its like its resetting something.

Sounds like there is a Freon leak and has been since it was installed and is going off on because of low charge, you will need to call a competent A/C repairer, more then likely the leak will be in the air handler, should cost under a $100 to fix. Good Luck Tim

Outside unit turns on and runs for a long time by itself then shuts off. Does this all day an night long. Notice this after a circuit breaker tripped. Not breaker to unit though. Other parts of house.

You have to try resetting the system. First turn the breaker off for the condenser and wait about 20 seconds. After you turn it back on the system should reset. If you need any other Air Conditioning Repair help. Check us out online.

Outside unit will only run for a short amount of time with A/C before the fan stops turning and starts humming, squealing/screeching and the top of the outside unit gets hot.

The bearings are bad in the motor and after the fan runs enough it eventually gets hot, making the bearing screech and the fan locks up. Need to replace motor again. See if it has a warranty. The reason it gets hot is because the fan is what removes the heat from the coil and if the fan isn't running there is nothing to cool it off so to speak.

There are two things you can check outside before calling a service technician. The first is the breaker to the outside unit. There is a breaker or disconnect near the unit. If there is nothing wrong with the electrical supply, check the refrigerant level. If the level is low, the pressure switch will cut off power to the compressor to protect it from damage. DO NOT try to recharge the compressor yourself.

Fan works, but if A/C turned on, trips breaker within a few minut

You need to verify if the problem is the unit or the breaker.  To do this, you will need to measure the current it is pulling from the power source.
If the unit is pulling too much current, then the unit is the problem.  If the unit is pulling as much or less than its rated current draw, then the circuit breaker is worn out.
The units WILL pull more power when hot outside.  It should not trip a breaker unless something is wrong with either the unit or the breaker.
A current draw test will tell you for sure.
If it's not the breaker, then it's probably low refigerant causing the issue.

No cooling after power out, indicator lights pattern not in manual

The Mitsubishi units have to be reset by turning off the indoor units by switching the remote or thermostat to off. Then turn off the breaker to the outside unit(s). After 30 seconds, turn on the breaker and then you can turn on the remote for cool. If no lights come on on the inside units, most likely you have blown a fuse soldered on the main PC board. At this point, call your technician. A goos tech will be able to wire in an in-line fuse holder so if it should happen again, you can easily replace the fuse. If you do see a light or two come on at the indoor unit but the outdoor unit does not start after 3 or 4 minutes, sounds like you will need to call a technician. Most likely you have a blown fuse on the main PC board of the outside unit. It is not an easy one to replace. Good Luck!
