My fridge isn't cold at all but my freezer is working. The dial is turned all te way up for coldest but still nothing. You can hear it runningtoo. What's could it be?

The defrost control board can be found inside the fresh food compartment behind the control panel where you adjust temperatures for the refrigerator and freezer. To gt to the control board you need to unplug the refrigerator and disassemble the control panel. Look over the control board sometimes you may see signs of heat damage but not always. heat rises and cold stays down on the lower shelves,if the evap fan motor isn't blowing this will happen,next time send the brand name and model number off of the machine,open the freezer door,if you don't hear the fan blowing you have a bad evap fan motor,all it does is the freezer gets cold,the fan blows the cold air from the freezer to the fridge section,also if the fan isn't working when you remove the back inside wall of the freezer if there's any ice melt it out with a hair dryer,unplug the machine before you start working on it,call your parts store,give them the model number and they will sell you the parts you need.

I agree with the tech. if the refriderator isn't frosting it isn't working,their is only 1fan and its in the freezer,The tech could have missed some frost build up that is blocking the air flow into the fresh food section,if he removed all the frost it could take up to 24 hours to get cold ,it should slowly geta bit colder throughout the day,if by tomorrow its still not working have the tech come back and check for frost build up on the vents for air flow into fresh food compartment.
To reiderate their is two types of refrigerators,one that you have to manually defrost and a automatic defrost type where the defrost system which is comprised of the defrost heater,timer&termination t-stat will automatically melt the frost

Have these temp control dial be check.
If it is defective it's either defrosting- no ice or freezer is full of ice.
Check if you can or call a service technician to do that.

9 is usually the coldest setting. Turn the dial all the way. The side with the click is off. If it does not click, then turn it all the way and listen for the compressor to turn on or off. What I just told you applies only to the freezer. The numbers on the dial for the fridge should be the same.

Check the coils underneath the fridge. Carefully vacuum and brush the coils clean. Usually there is a condenser fan near the compressor and condenser and a evaporator fan in the freezer. Make sure they both are turning.

i take it the unit is frost free you need to replace the defrost element in the freezer whats happening is your freezer sends cold air through small holes to the fridge compartment but when the freezer cant self defrost those holes freeze over thus no cold air into the fridge compartment get a tech in to check the element shoulnt cost more than $ 80.00
