Hi - I'm trying to install a CD, AM/FM radio in a boat. I've checked the voltages - they're good. I hook the positive to the red and yellow wire, and the negative to the black wire. Doesn't turn on. Checked the fuses - they're good. Tried the radio on a bench 12v power supply and my car battery - still doesn't turn on. Bought another radio at walmart and it doesn't turn on either. Either I've got two bad radios or I'm wiring this thing wrong. Any Suggestions?

Make sure that the ground you are using is solid and has a clean connection.

Thanks - That's excellent advice. Finally found the problem - On the first radio, it's probably a bad radio. On the second radio that I got at Wal Mart - I didn't have the wiring connector pushed all the way in and locked. I went back to the first radio and checked that solution and that wasn't the problem - so that one goes back to Amazon and the Wal Mart radio goes into the boat.

    Thanks for the help

Disconnect all the speaker leads and then hook one speaker (a new, known to work speaker) up directly to the radio using a short (6"-12") piece of speaker wire. Does that speaker work then?

Clarion M5675 won't turn on

Take the stereo all the way out and hook the black wire to the negative terminal and the yellow and the red wire to the positive terminal on a charged car battey. If it still does not turn on you may have fuse in the back of the deck. If not it's probably fried.
