Remove the device, restart your computer and try it in another port, make sure you are using usb 2.0 port if your device requires it.

Check for drivers, some devices require the drivers and software to be installed before plugging in the device

One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it for assistance in solving this problem click this message

Possible that the USB Port is damaged , it can be if the port is used quite often with various types of USB connected to it. You can use an extension cord to check if the cord contacts better and the device is detected.
If not try to reinstall the motherboard drivers, restore the PC to an earlier date and try before confirming that the board has an issue.

Usb ports not recognized

Did this suddenly start to occur? Were they working before? If so, it is very simple - shut down computer, remove the battery and unplug any power source, wait a couple of minutes and reassemble and power up. Wala! I read all kinds of complicated instructions, started with the simple, and problem solved.

Recognized my 4gb transcend pendrive

Try windows repair, it should fix the problem.Else connect the pendrive and check the port settings. You can check for the port settings by
right click on "my computer"-->properties-->hardware-->device manager
A new window opens and at the bottom probably you'll find "Universal Serial Bus controller". Expand that option and check whether all the ports are enabled. If the pendrive is still not detected, then the problem is with the port.Check the same with the other available ports.Any further doubts add comments.Would be glad to answer.Good luck.
