I have hp copmaq nx 6310 laptop . i was installing windos xp service pack 3 but poer shouot down , now when i on the lap top its shows black screen , windos not booting not taking aslo i tried but use i dont know wt todo.

I am afraid there is not much you can do except re-install Windows. the reinstall may be able to repair the damage and provide a quicker result.
You need to get your repair DVD and insert that then turn the PC and boot from the DVD.

The reason why the Windows XP cannot find the SATA hard disk in the installation process is because XP does not have a SATA driver on the installation CD.

Actually i hav Copmaq Presario C784TU....it has windows vista in built i replace this os with Windos XP but now drivers for XP is not supported (not getting installed)which i download from the HP site.......
you should be able to get any drivers you need by going to www.driverguide.com

Hard drives not detected in my hp compaq nx6310....
Dear, in all the new laptop's its common problem because what bootable cd u are using did not contain sata drivers and thats why it shows no harddrive found ok so search the sata drivers and make bootable cd by adding this sata drivers and than try to boot.

Hi,

This is because files that windows xp needs to function properly are corrupted or missing, so you would have to repair or re-install windows xp using the operating system cd.

Compaq presario V2000 power off unexpectedly.
There are quite a few laptops and towers (my e-machine) that is not compatible with service pack 2. However, they are compatible with service pack 3 release candidate 2. Down towards bottom of page, choose which language.
