Audio drivers installation problem

OS xp doesnt come with sound drivers. U have to install sound drivers for ur system. see if u have it in ur motherboard cd, or else u have to download.
OS vista & win7 comes with sound drivers already.

the easiest way to get the audio driver is to download and install xp sp 3 (windows xp service pack 3) - that is if you are using windows xp. please provide more details of which OS you are using and which device you are looking for drivers.

you shouldn't have installed vista service pack 1
its a known issue with vista service pack 1
if u had vista before and u updated it to sp1...i would suggest you to either do a system restore and uninstall sp1
or install XP back

go to the support site for your motherboard, there you will get universal bus architecture device drive. Install this before you install the Audio/Sound driver.

You could also try:

Do you have Service Pak 2 installed, it has a lot of updated drivers.

Remove all audio devices in the control panel > System > Hardware tab > Device Manager. Then reboot and let XP redetect the audio hardware.

Another idea is to run Windows Update and see if there's an update to the driver.
