Hi
I too have same problem, put cleaning disc in made no difference.Have to admit after 6years of use(alot)has to wear out some time.I have asked $ and availability of parts,as am in New Zealand.Considered fixing if possible and not to costly.Brought single dvd player as VCR hardly used anyway.Have asked for answer to go on community board how long that will take who knows.Am going to speak to closest philips contact when I get round to it.
RegardsAndy

VCR will not play

Since it is a dual DVD/Video player is the Video selected as active? You should have a button switching between DVD and Video!

Vcr gets sound but no video. dvd works fine

it sounds like the video head is dirty and needs cleaning, buy a vcr cleaning tape and follow directions on how to clean the heads... Radio Shack should have the cleaning tape....hope this helps.

Finalizing a disc so it can play on another dvd player

Video and sound are two different formats. Not all players support all sound and video. You may have a player that supports the sound portion of your disk but not the video.

DVD player repairing

Double-check your DVD player's user manual/spec sheet to see if it plays Mp3 format files at all. Find out, specifically what kind it can read.

If your Mp3 disc is a DATA CD instead of an AUDIO CD, then nothing besides a computer is going to play it.

Playing dvd

Make sure the video cable is going from the OUT of the dvd player (and make sure the color matches up), and make sure the progressive scan is turned off

Magnavox mwd2205 - VCR Function

grace0308, Many of the combo units have multiple video outputs and some, like the SVHS and RGB Component outputs, are for DVD only. Make sure that you are plugged into the proper video output. Play a tape and try them all.

Dvd/vcr

well sounds like one of the players is not in correct spot thus shuts down (kinda timing issue) see if there is anything preventing it from going jiggle or turn upside down see if you hear anything.
