No signal from this combo unit can mean either one of 2 things; the program information didn't update correctly while unit was in standby, so some digital channels may be missing or scrambled, or you have selected a HD channel by mistake during use (this series does not have a HD tuner, it is only SD which would also produce the no signal issue).

Going on the first possibility, you can reset the unit back to factory default. To do this, while it is on, press and hold (on the front panel, not the remote) CH UP and CH DOWN buttons together until 'SETUP' appears on the display. Once setup begins, and the unit searches for DVB channels, release the buttons. With the remote, follow the subsequent options afterwards, when prompted. Check other menus, then exit. This should restore your unit to all SD digital channels available.

Assuming the tuner works generally, this reset procedure should help (it works perfectly for Australian models of this series).

Can't tune in tv with dvd freeview.it states ext link problem

If you've connected the DVD to the TV via HDMI or SCART you shouldn't need to 'tune it in', just select the HDMI or SCART input. If your TV is also a Freeview device and you want to tune it to Freeview, where you have the aerial connected to the DVD recorder, you need to also connect the DVD recorder to the TV via an RF cable or aerial flylead so that the aerial signal passes through the DVD recorder. It's all in the instructions

Problems with Philips vhs recorder/dvd player

You only need coaxial cable to pick up TV stations broadcast via an aerial. If your TV has sockets to connect via HDMI or SCART, then any players can be connected via them. So if the adapter box picks up TV signals, you connect the main aerial cable to that and it should have a coaxial out socket, that should be connected to the aerial in of your TV. If you are recording to an analogue video from the adapter box, then that will need to be connected via a scart socket or other connection.

Are you truly free? If so, then answer the

Hello. Your digital TV is all set up to recieve the digital signal that is now the standard signal coming into your home. The old analog signal is history. If you still want to use your VHS/DVD recorder you will have to get a signal conversion box, at your local walmart or radio shack. This will take the new digital signal and convert it so your old analog VHS/DVD can process it properly. Joe

Have a toshiba tp 61H95 proj TV- want to connect panasonic dvd recorder and toshiba vhs recorder so I can copy family videos to dvd- can't get hook ups set up for both to work.

Select AV-1 or some thing in TV and plug DVD recorder Video-Audio output in AV-1 input of TV, playback any DVD and confirm its picture and sound in TV. Press Stop button of DVD recorder to stop playback.
Now plug Video-Audio output of VCR in DVD recorder input and select AV Input in DVD recorder, insert VHS tape in VCR and playback it and confirm you get VHS picture and sound in TV via DVD recorder.
Hookup between TV, DVD recorder and VCR is completed.
Playback VHS tape in VCR, Insert blank DVD disc in DVD recorder and press Record while you see VHS tape picture in TV.
Hope this info will help you.

I have a Toshiba DVR19DTKB DVD & VHS Recorder with Freeview , A SKY + Box, A Panasonic NV-SD240BL Video cassette recorder, A Samsung PS42B450B1W 42'' Plasma TV, and would like see a diagram of how all...

connect the aerial to the dvd/vcr/freeview combo, connect a scart from that to the tv, from the scart out socket.
you can then connect the sky from the scart marked tv to either the tv direct or to the combo if it has a second scart.
Note. a scart socket with an arrow going into a box is an input, coming out of the boe is an output and a double arrow is a two way scart.
if you use scart 2 on the tv to connect the combo, the combo will recieve a signal from the tv for recording.

My old samsung dvd recorder dvd/r120 doesnt work with my new digital tv. can only record 4 analogue channels worked fine before with digi box.have a digital aerial

> digi box (?)
Is this digital converter?
Your new TV doesn't need it but it could well work with your DVR. It wouldn't give you the benefit of HD recording but with it, you could convert the digital signal into analog and record the results.

Panasonic DVD Recorder - Digital tuner stopped working

Is your recorder hooked up to the new convert box for digital antenna reception?
I am currently researching the convert boxes for my dvd recorder. I found that some dvd recorders already have digital converter boxes already installed. This might be the case for you.
