What do you mean by installation? Are you trying to upgrade the firmware on your router and are you going through the Belkin Router Manager icon in your system tray (right-click/check for updates)?

Also if you already downloaded the firmware update, make sure you update from a directly connected computer and not over wireless.

As far as the rebooting goes, if that doesn't help then depending on your Operating System if it's windows, you can check the event viewer to see what error is being reported. Go to Start, click Run and type eventvwr.msc then press Enter. Under Applications or Applications and Service Logs, you should see a recent error for the application. That will lead us to why it's rebooting.

Hi. I have just set up a Belkin Share wireless router, Connecting to internet fine, but can't get printer to work via usb. Green light above socket doesn't come on when I plug it in. Thanks in advance -...

Ian, you have to 1st of all connect that printer to the computer and check if its working fine or not. Check if you have installed the necessary drivers and software that came along with the printer. Once that gets to go, then, connect the printer to Share router and check if the light above the USB is lit up to check if the port on router is working. If that is lit, you have to be connected to the router (make sure that you aren't connected wireless as a guest). Guest access doesn't have the rights to have file and printer sharing! Install the router monitor software properly that would be on the disk which came along with router or download the latest version of software from: http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3714/p/5132
You also have a brief tutorial on how to configure a printer with this router on the Belkin Support website. Here is the link for that. http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3796/p/5132.

For further clarifications, do revert!
Thanks for asking.

My belkin N router always disconnects on the internet. im sure its not a modem issue coz when i try to restart my router its connected again to the internet. my belkin router model is f5d8233-4v3....

Disconnections are generally relative to the Internet Provider and Speed. If the speed drops, the router can disconnect and reboots. Just make certain you always update all drivers and especially if you are in Windows, keep up with current updates. Check your device drivers and do update from there also.

Printer connection on my Belkin G Plus Mimo

You have to make sure you go to Control Panel/Printers, right click on the printer in the list and click 'Properties' - go to the sharing tab, select 'Share this printer', give it a name, and click OK. Then go to Printers on each of the laptops, select 'Add a printer', then 'Network printer', then 'Browse for printers'. You should be able to see the printer. If all the computers use the same operating system, you're good, otherwise, when you first share the printer, you may want to install additional drivers from the cd to support the different operating systems - alternately, you'll have to install the drivers for the printer on each computer.

Please rate if this helps :)

Belkin n wirelss router setup

To setup the router you will need to log in to your router's control panel. This certainly won't be as simple as on the installer disc, yet it is still do-able. You might also want to contact Belkin's free technical support hot line. They can help you set it up with the method I described above.

Belkin wireless router

Hi,

Your Belkin router is normally configured to get a dynamic IP Add from your Internet provider unless otherwise configured. Most ISP's network where clients/subscribers connect (through DSL) has a DHCP server that hands out this IP adds. If your router keeps on changing its WAN IP add, it may presumably be because:
1. Your router keeps on rebooting or powering on/off and everytime it turns on, it is given a new IP add;
2. Your ISP's DHCP server keeps on renewing its lease on the IP add given to your router.

Corrective measures would entail:
a. Do a full hard reset of your router and go through the installation setup again. Of course this would revert all settings/configuration to factory default; and/or
b. Contact your ISP and explain your concern.

In some cases, the router's MAC address has an issue that the ISP's DHCP is keeping a hard time recognizing it. this can be corrected with a firmware update.

Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things tunrs up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kin regards.
