I cannot seem to get proper sizing with my picture dislay on my Samsung LCD TV when viewing inputs from the Magnavox H2160MW9 A DVR. When viewing inputs from cable it displays the 4:3 and 16:9 pictures properly but when the same signal comes through the DVR the picture fills the whole screen like it is zoomed in and good part of the picture along the edges are missing. I have tried selecting the different aspect ratios without much success. Is there any zoom control on the DVR.

The unit is not a DVR capable of recording one channel and watching another. You can only watch or record one program at a time. Sorry.

Choose Dub on remote. Choose HDD to DVD. When you are looking at your HDD Titles, move the cursor (the highlighted box, using the left/right buttons on your remote) to the title you want to Dub. Hit the OK button on your remote. Then hit the Dubbing button on your remote. If you are ready to record, move cursor down to Start Dubbing. Choose speed, then hit OK button.

SOURCE: connect the magnavox zv457mg9 and the dvr side

Hi there,

I suspect you've used the audio out sockets on the back of the player that are exclusively for the DVD player. I've ringed these in red in the diagram below. For audio from both DVD and VCR, you need to use the audio out sockets for DVD/VCR which I've ringed in green.belectric_162.jpg I suspect this is the cause of the problem, but if you are using two connections from the player to the TV (one for DVD and one for VCR), the VCR will be on a different input to the DVD.

Hope this helps. If this does not solve the problem or you need further assistance, please let me know the model number of your TV and how the DVD/VCR player is connected to the TV. If you don't know the model number of the TV this can be found on a label on the back of the TV. Please reply to me by clicking on "Add a Comment" below your question.

Regards,
BElectric

No power to Magnavox H2160MW9 unless disconnect ribbon cable to CN1 502 socket. What does this do, and how do I fix it?

A service manual for this is going to be impossible to find to figure out what's going on, unfortunately it's most likely not fixable, one thing I can tell you however is powering it up with a cable unhooked won't hurt anything

Magnavox h2160mw9 power won't come on

I have 2 Magnavox h2160mw9 that won't turn on after power failure. I unplug, wait 15 to 30 minutes, then re-plug and the Magnavox h2160mw9 powers on by its self. I have to reset clock and any programing that was erased. Channels previously scanned remain okay. Hope this helps.

THE AUTO FOCUS NEED TO BE FIXED BUT I DONT HAVE A REMOTE?

There is no way to adjust the view mode on this television without a remote control. There is a view mode button on the remote control. However if you have a cable box/satellite receiver dvr attached to this television adjusting the resolution, making sure the tv is on the correct input for hd from a receiver box, and pressing the hdzoom#, format or aspect button on the receiver remote should resize the picture. You have to play around with those settings to get a desirable size picture.

Blank screen with other displays still working

1. By View your DVR, Do you mean you can actually see a picture?
2. By "Switch Channels", are these channels being tuned by the TV Tuner?

Your LCD Panel is OK Since you have a Picture (input display in right corner)
If you can see a picture with your DVR, VCR, DVD or any external source then your TVs Video Processing is OK....if not you will probably need to replace the responsible PWB for this function
If you can see a picture with the external sources and only the TV's Tuner is not showing Video, The PWB responsible for Tuning within the TV should be replaced.

Also, if all problems are associated with only the DVR (I assume this is Sat or Cable), then it is most likely that this device is not functioning properly. Possibly lost signal or deauthorized.
