I found a bad sound driver problem error code 88780078. in media tools>preferences>plugin>output>direct sound driver......>configure default device is primary sound driver only not showing other option...

My long standing WinAmp suddely started giving me the following message: "Bad Direct Sound driver, Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration. Error code 88780078"
1.) Open Winamp
2.) Press and hold down Ctrl+P (for preferences)
3.) Go to Plug-ins --> Output
4.) Double click on "DirectSound output"
5.) Click on the Driver tab
6.) Make sure the device in the drop-down list correctly reflects your soundcard.
The sound card features might be turned off and causing Error Code: 88780078.
To activate these "features":
1)control panel
2)sounds and audio devices
3)Hardware tab
4)sound card should be listed... highlight... Properties
5)Properties tab
6)Audio Devices
7)highlight sound card and click Properties
8)If audio features are disabled... select "Use audio features on this device"
9)restart computer
