Download the user manual to your TV. Clik here to download it. See whether audio options to it are set right. If all are right, check its speaker. If speaker is OK, the audio output circuit section should be troubleshooted. If you feel any difficulty in downloading the manual, send your email address to me. I'll send a copy of it to you by return mail.
If the
buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do
not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped
responding. Reset the TV as follows:
NOTE: Some TVs have a reset button.
If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the
steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time. Figure 1:
Example of the reset button labeling on the LC2600N 1.Unplug the TV
power cord from the power outlet. 2.Unplug any connected
devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...) 3.Press and hold
the TV power button for five seconds. 4.Plug the TV power
cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV. 5.Open the
on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again. 6.Turn off the TV
and reconnect the devices. 7.Turn on the TV.
I personally dont think its the power supply, you're getting power, and I could be wrong, but it sounds like bulbs or modules that enable your "picture" is faulty. Check the owners manual for troubleshooting tips too, companies are making flat screens so fast nowadays that they install faulty parts and don't even realize it.
While this is not a permanent solution, we've fond it helps... We have a Samsung LCD that does not turn on when there is too much humidity in the room. This only happens in the summer when it gets really humid. We moved our dehumidifier next to it, let it run for around 15 minutes and the TV turned on again, no problem. Lately, it's been raining alot so it's very humid. We've gotten into the habit of leaving our dehumidifier on through the night on low and we've had not issues turning on the tv since then. This is a hastle but it's either that or buying a new tv.
Even with the tv turned off, the power supply is still active. It's supplying voltages to the microcontroler, that's why each time you press the power button on remote the tv respond by turning on. First check the power cord to be well connected in the power-bar and if it's ok...well the power supply is defective and due to the high risk of electric shock i suggest you to call a technicien.
P.S. I respond here because I don't know why our chat session got disconected.
