I just fixed my camera after putting in 2 new batteries and the FEE came up. I removed my lens and then reattached it to the camera body. For some reason it worked. Hope it works for you!
Make sure the F-stop ring on the lens is turned to the minimum aperture setting. Usually 22 or 32. The camera won't allow you to shoot unless it is. It will try to warn you by flashing the FEE code.

I have exactly the same problem. I am writing an email to Olympus for further advice. I beleive there is some replacement policy as this seems to be a manufacturer problem.
The five pics are being stored on the camera's internal memory. The card you used was formatted and used in your phone. It's a miracle it worked at all. You need to get a new card, format it in your new camera have fun.
