It's a server mobo.. it might not be configured out of the box to support that. Check the BIOS.. after that check for any BIOS updated for that board. It might be an issue they resolved. You also might have to TELL it to boot from an external source (some MoBo's make you press the TAB button at POST to open that menu.. others the F10 key)
