Intermittent transmit can be caused by:

1) Bad or poorly charged battery. (try a known good battery and see if the problem clears up)
2) Poor connection to the battery. (clean all contacts with a pencil eraser)
3) Bad PTT internal button, radio would need repair.
4) Bad antenna. Check for breaks in the rubber covering.
5) Other internal problems requiring repair.

Best regards.

Motorola xtnid not transmitting

This can be a sign of a bad or poorly charged battery. Trade batteries with a known good unit to see if the battery solves the problem.
Secondly, check your programming to be certain the radio is programmed to match the others.
Lastly, if neither of these solve the problem, your radio is likely in need of repair.

Two sets of Motorola Walki Talki radios will not communicate.

In addition to the channel and privacy codes, some Motorola two-way radios have a feature called Eavesdrop Reducer where you have 3 scramble settings available; perhaps you have this set on one of sets of radios but not the other. It should be something like that because otherwise there is no reason that by setting the radios to the same channel and privacy code they wouldn't be able to send/receive to each other.

Need xtniimanual manuals

First of all, thank you very much Colin for choosing FIXYA today for your online technical support needs.

Here is a direct link to the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for that model:

http://www.motorola.com/web/Business/Products/Two-Way%20Radios%20-%20Unlicensed/_Documents/XTNiD/Static%20Files/XTNi%20Manual%20EN.pdf

To view the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and blue highlighted section of text just above.

This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the contents of the Owner's Manual.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents, although many computers already have this type of utility pre-installed.

You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary. Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, then follow the onscreen instructions to install the software on your computer.

I truly hope that was helpful to you.

Good luck and take care.

Motorola XTNi off frequency

There are several ways:
1) Customer Programming Software (CPS)*
Allows users to perform various programming
functions. Plus, the CPS software provides access
to new features such as Radio Reporting to
manage cloning and radio profiles, Manager Lock,
Power Select, and Time-Out Timers.
* CPS is available as an optional accessory, including required USB cable.
2) Easy Cloning
Quickly copy settings from radio to radio with
either the Radio-to-Radio Cloning Cable or the
Multi-Unit Charger accessories. (Both sold
separately.)

You should be able to purchase any of this software/equipment from your retailer where you purchased the radio.

Best regards.

Motorola XTNi two way radio red light on all the time

The XTNi is a European version of the Radius CP110 and the Spirit RDX series. This unit is user-programmable. It is possible the radios you have with the same symptoms have a programming issue.

There are 3 ways to program the radio: 1) using the CPS software and cable, 2) using the 6-unit charger as a cloning station, or 3) using 2 single unit chargers linked together via a cloning cable. It is also possible to change limited programming features by hand.

We suggest you take one of your XTNi radios which is functioning correctly and clone the codeplug (copy the programming) into the non-functioning radios to see if it clears the problem. If not, the unit should still be under warranty. Take it back to the place where you purchased it and see if you can get it repaired under warranty. (This unit has only been available for about one year, so yours should still be under warranty.)

One other issue might be effecting the radios, which would be rare to happen on more than one radio at the same time. This would be "lock in transmit". You could tell if this were the case, because the radio's display would not change when you press any of the buttons. This problem would also require repair.

Motorola XTNiD

Hello Umtali,

What you describe could be the result of the radios being incorrectly programmed by the dealer. Like most professional radios, the Motorola MTNiD requires delaer programming (using computer software) to set the channels and functions of the radio. If the radios were not programmed or were programmed incorrectly then an error such as the one you mentioned might occured.

You should contact the dealer about getting the malfuntioning radios reprogrammed. Or, you may be able to clone any working radios you have into the non-functional ones using the cloning procedure in the User's Manual.

Best Regards.

Motorola and Kenwood compatibility....

Hello!! First of all, any radio in the right frequency will work with any other, to work just need the following features: -Frequency, 154.700 which is correct as you said. - the Squelch code, this could be PL or DPL. The XV2100 has a table of codes that you can try, as you dont know this code form the Kenwood, you will need to check one by one. If you have the chance to send the Kenwood to some to "Read" the radio parameters( freq.,Code, ETc) you can look those parameters on the XV. Hope this can help, any comments [email protected] Good Luck
