My Honeywell QuickSteam HWM335 3 Gallon Humidifier won't run. I have the power on and it remains red. the water tank level is full and humidity level sets to highest and it's on a flat surface(table). I wait for 30 minutes, and still no sign of it boiling. I wonder if the product is malfunction and/or defective. Please, advice me.

Why does my Honeywell HMW450 humidifier keep shutting off?

Here are a few things to check:

-make sure the heating element is clean. If there is a thick layer of scale (mineral deposit), then the unit will not turn on.
-there are magnets on the water reservoir that allow the unit to turn on. If these magnets are not lined up properly, then the unit thinks there is no tank, and thus, not turn on.
-turn the humidity up past your target point. The humidity near the unit could be a lot higher than the rest of the room, causing it to shut off prematurely.

Hope this helps!

The power light on my Bemis 4D-7800 humidifier flashes.

On my water wheel several parameters must be met. 1. Power on, cord plugged in. 2. Water in tank, the float arm needs to move to indicate water present, the red light on the dash indicates no water. 3. Humidity controll set higher than the room atmosphere humidity, clockwise is higher on mine. 4. The fan speed selecter must be on either high or low, the fan won't run unless one position is selected. I hope this helps

Sunbeam Ultrasonic Humidifier, model: 697-6

Located My Manual:
Hope this helps!

1. Remove tank from base. Turn upside down and unscrew filling cap. Fill tank with clean, cool, distilled, or tap water. Water temp should NEVER be too hot or too cold. Return tank to base and let sit for a few minutes. Be sure the filling cap of the tank is tightened firmly.

2. Plug power cord into a 110-120V AC wall outlet only. Turn power switch to "on" position. Power light will illuminate. Turn mist nozzle until desired level is being released. Aim nozzle away from furniture and walls.

3. Always turn humidifier off when water runs* out. Unit will continue to operate when tank is empty.
*Humidifier will run up to 12 hrs on low; 6 hrs on high.

DO NOT LET WATER SIT IN TANK FOR LONG. THIS CAN ENCOURAGE BACTERIAL GROWTH.
Place unit on level surface away from direct sunlight.
DO NOT ADD MEDICATION OF ANY TYPE INTO THE NOZZLE, BASE, OR WATER TANK.
ALWAYS LEAVE ROOM DOOR PARTLY OPEN. DO NOT MOVE, TILT, OR EMPTY WHILE OPERATING.

Mild bleach and water solution for cleaning, never detergent.
Clean every 3rd day during use. Clean after long storage
Humidity varies from room to room. Aim for 30 - 50% relative humidity. If windows/ walls fog or frost, reduce mist intensity. If room too humid, ventilate by opening door or window; adjust mist intensity.

Runs, but no humidity

These things have a "sponge" appearing part that is located below the tank. Be sure to totally soak that part in water before trying to use the unit. I had one of these about 3 years ago, and the same thing happened to me. I believe the "sponge", which is really a filter, actually wicks the water into the section of the humidifier that sends water vapor out of the top. You must completely soak it to "Prime" the system, so to speak. That is what worked for me.

Fan is running but humidity is not changing

Q: My unit has been running for several hours. I hear the fan spinning, but I do not notice the water level in the tank decreasing.
A:
First, check the filter to ensure it is wet. If the pad appears dry, remove it from the Base and gently rinse under cool water. Reposition wet filter in the Base. You may also want to note the current moisture level in your home. If the humidity level is over 60% the unit will not put out much moisture
as your air is already saturated.

UV bulb and filter are user replacement items

4b54ac1.jpg Comment by Soulvisitor, posted on Jan 20, 2008 If water level in tank is dropping and fan runs then I'd say it is working.

OK?
Comment by Soulvisitor, posted on Jan 20, 2008 Q: I hear the fan turning, but I don’t see any mist. Is my humidifier operating properly?
A:
Dry air is pulled through the system and a fan disperses invisible, moisture balanced air. There is no
“mist” emitted. When operating normally you will feel only cool air coming from the unit. Monitor the
water level in your Tank/ Base. If you notice a decrease in the Water Tank over 24 hours then the unit
is operating normally.
