Fuses usually blow for a good reason - because something else is wrong.
A fuse may go once if it is just a bit old but if changing a fuse twice has not solved the problem then there is some sort of electrical fault that you need to trace. It could be

  • a short circuit - maybe a crack in the insulation in the cable somewhere - most likely point is where the cable enters or exits the power supply and is subject to a lot of flexing or where it joins the coil windings inside the transformer.
  • too much equipment connected to the power supply overloading it
  • an open circuit or failed component causing- too low a resistance allowing too much current to flow
  • a cable or component somewhere in the power supply that has too high a resistance for the current to flow causing a build up of heat at the weakest point - the fuse.
Unless the fault is something obvious like a broken wire it may just be a case of replacing the power supply

Behringer Europower PMP2000 Fuse keeps blowing when the amp is switched on.

For goodness sakes do NOT replace the fuse... doing so causes more damage inside. Likely one of the power amps has shorted and may have damaged the power supply as well. Also please read my tip on Fixya regarding a HAZARD with channel A if you use 1/4 inch plugs with the speaker cables. Essentially the sleeve of the channel A plug is the hot, and not the tip. Ground the sleeve of the plug and you can blow the channel A amp. YOU WILL NEED TO TAKE THE UNIT IN FOR REPAIR... THIS IS NOT A DIY REPAIR!!!!

I have Behringer pmp 2000 mixer but it burned my fuse. How can I buy it?

If the fuse blew do NOT replace it till the unit is serviced or you will burn up more components. These units will blow out from a minimum of three to 30 components when they blow.

There is weak insulation between layers of the power amp circuit board and the arcing destroys a minimum of three transistors and often many more components on the power supply board as well.

I have repaired several of these and it is a lot of work. The power amp module can be had for about $175 but it often takes out the power supply as well.

Behringer super x pro.the fuse keeps blowing on the ac inlet(t200 MA).a replacement unit works fine in the system.

When a fuse keeps blowing suspect an overload in either the power supply section or main amp part.
Look for burnt or damaged parts first.
The suspects in the power section are: transformer, diodes, rectifier, voltage stablizer, regulator.
In the Amp Section anything on the heat sink.

Fuse blowing on start up on Behringer PMH 518M

Try running the amp with no speaker cables connected. If it doesn't blow the fuse you know it's either your Speakon cables or the speakers themselves that are to blame (it's usually the cables)

If it still blows then there is a more serious problem with the power section.

Behringer eurodesk mx9000 Power supply problems

After a little research I discovered that Behringer has had problems in the past with there power supplys so I replaced the faulty one and so far the problem has been solved. Our local power company has been sending to much power to our church building and that is what caused to old power supply to burn out. We are still trying to get them to take care of their issues.
