    Cannot use telephone due to hearing problems, so buying premium help is a foolish waste of money.
    Just email solution.

    Cannot find "the middle icon." What does it say?

  • Anonymous Aug 05, 2008

    I cannot get diagram size down to 150 in TIF. From Toshiba AUDIO (L/R)/Video IN cables go to Protron Input IN 2 and a cable goes from Toshiba Top (Yellow) AUDIO (L/R)/Video Out to Protron Video (above the S-Video plug) and another cable goes from the Toshiba Bottom (Red) AUDIO (L/R)/Video Out to the Protron PWR Video Out.

    Have not attempted to plug in the GoVideo.

  • Anonymous Aug 05, 2008

    I am confused as to which of the "Video Out" are to be used on the Protron. In the Video Out block on the left are two rows of three jacke, the Left being all coded Red and the ones to the Right are all coded White. In the next block, the center jack is coded Yellow and the ones next are coded (from the top) Green, Blue and Red. From the Toshiba where do the Red, Yellow and White leads go?

I realigned all the connections as per these drawings and tried to copy a VHF tape in the GoVideo, but apparently ot still recorded from the Toshiba. When I select the Input from the Toshiba, I get nothing from the Protron and after a recording trian, I cannot get it to go to Disk Edit.

    Hi,

    Read your additional comment in our Live Session unfortunately, I can not post back there.

    To your original concern - please try removing the RCA connectors (yellow, red and white) from the Audio/Video OUT of the first Toshiba and reconnect them to the Audio/Video OUT of the GO Video unit. These would be the ones with the other end that go to the Audio/Video IN of the Protron DVD Recorder (the ones in the Protron should stay where they are Audio/Video IN).

    To your added comment of sending diagram:
    if you had them already scanned, pls post them here by clicking the middle icon (from the top left of this Comment window) "Select an image to attach to your post". The file size is limited to 150kb.

    Could you try wiring it this way?

  • Anonymous Aug 06, 2008

    On your last post "which of the "Video Out", please refer to below diagram.

    In case you may have need for, below is the diagram for the Go Video to the Protron.

    Cheers.

    Hi again,

    Re your email, if you did, sorry but for some reason I did not receive it nor was I notified that you responded.

    Ok, lets try it this way, wire according to the above diagram.

        Power OFF on the GO Video, power ON on both the Toshiba TV and Protron DVD R. Play a movie DVD on the Protron;

        On the TV Remote, press TV/VCR to select TV/VCR mode;

        press INPUT SELECT once to select LINE 1 which will appear on the screen. You should now be able to watch the DVD movie;

        If not, pls double check your connection from the OUTPUT of the Protron to the LINE1 IN of the Toshiba at the back.

        If yes, the Protron is wired correctly to the Toshiba.
    Now to the Sanyo VCR:

        STOP/EJECT the DVD, maintain POWER ON on both TV and Protron, maintain LINE 1 setting on Toshiba;

        Verify that the Sanyo OUTPUT is wired according to the diagram to the INPUT 1 of the Protron;

        Power ON the Sanyo and play a known good VHS tape;

        Press the INPUT button on the remote for the Protron twice;

        Protron should now be on AV1;

        movie on VHS tape would now be displayed.
    Basically, that's about it. If you want to record the VHS tape being played on the Sanyo to a blank DVD on the Protron:

        ensure that there is an acceptable/appropriate blank DVD in the Protron;

        the system is wired as stated before and the settings of the individual machines are as before;

        press RECORD button on the Protron remote.
    Would look forward to your reply preferably on your original post here.

dvd out to TV monitor in.
If you have a newer TV, choose an input, then select that input with your remote, to monitor recording progress.

Protron recording

If the tapes are originals and not copies then they will be copy protected and you will have problems copying them , there is another way but due to legal reasons i cannot go into that.

When recording from vhs tape, and the signal is poor at times, the machine automaticaly stops recording temporarily and resumes when the signal is more stable. how can this feature be disabled?

If you are recording VHS tapes that contain macrovision, and most commercial tapes do, you can't record them with this DVR because it is compliant with the law that says you can't do it. So don't try. Download nearly every movie/tv show from the internet instead.

If you are recording from VHS tapes that you have created yourself from TV sources, or from camera, you must stabilize the picture. There are several devices like that. Do a google search on "vhs stabilizer".

PD DVR100

I thought I sent you an email two days ago that I have plugged in according to these diagrams and it still will not work. When I input Line 1 or Line 2, it does not "see" the Protron. In spite of this, I started the GoVideo playing a tape, and pressed the Record on the Protron, and what it recorded I do not know, as I was not successful in obtaining Disk Edit.
Question:
Maybe I should try to go from the TV through the GoVideo to the Protron?

I used my pd-dvr100 to record a copy of a home made dvd. I do not know the format of the source disc. The process went well. The PD-DVD100 WILL PLAY THE DISC. However, the disc will not play on the player...

Have you tried to make sure the disc is finalized. Second check the manufacture website to make sure that the dvd player you are trying to play it in is compatible with the disc type that you recored on. Veryfy this by looking at the disc type on the dvd commonly refered to as +R or -R
