I have a apple ipod model A1320 Emc no: 2317 it once belonged to another person. How do i register it in my name

When iTunes opens after plugging the iPod in, click on the iPod on the side tab and where it says "so and so's iPod" click on it and rename it if it allows for it, or alternately, restore it and then put your name in before re-syncing it with the playlist.

I can not play

Use itunes. It's made to work perfectly for the ipods. You can update the firmware and software using that. You can do a lot with itunes.

Change tags, info, and make playlists, update the whole ipod, reformat it so it's like new.
