You can download Canon software from
http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/digital_cameras/powershot_a_series/powershot_a590_is#DriversAndSoftware

You might want to consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Canon ZoomBrowser or any other photo cataloging program.

I have got Canon A590 IS without the CD

If all you want to do is download your pics, just get a card reader and use it instead of the camera.

Trying to download my pictures from Canon Powershot A430 onto my new laptop Windows 7. Downloaded the disk and now trying without success to download my pictures onto the computer. Help??

Supported windows Operating system Windows 98 Second edition(SE)
Windows Me
Windows 2000 Service pack 4
Windows XP SP 1 and SP 2 Canon PowerShot A430 has no update about the new driver software for windows 7 Try doing this direct transfer in your computer 1. Connect the camera to your computer using the supplied USB cable of your camera. 2. Set the mode dial to (playback) and turn on the power.
The camera and computer will be able to communicate. 3. If there is no pop up window that has Canon CameraWindow, Click the [Start] menu and select [all Programs] or [Programs]. followed by [Canon Utilities], [Camera Window], [PowerShot-IXY-IXUS-DV 6] and [CameraWindow] 4. Download the images.
* Download the images using the camera or the computer.
* By default, the downloaded images are saved into the [My Pictures] folder. ** If the above process does not work you can just use the memory card of your camera and connect that on your laptop. (some laptop has built in card reader) The memory card works like a flash drive and you can just transfer files like transferring from one folder to another. ** Issue on the operating system compatibility.

How do i get date and time on photo after downloading using canon A590 IS

Hi,

The only way to get the date and time on the pictures now is to use a photo editing program that has a text option. (e.g. Paint, Photoshop, etc.)

What you need to do if you want the date and time is to use the menu options on your camera to select it. Then when you download them the date and time will be on them.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Can i download video from canon a590 to pc?

Install and use the software that came with the camera. It's either ZoomBrowser (for Windows) or ImageBrowser (for Mac). This will allow you to download both still images and video clips from the camera.

Bought new cannon a590 powershot and lost disc and operators manuel for camera and i cannot download photos to computer. Thanking you any help would be great

Buy a card reader for cheap and download photos using card reader. Remove SD card from camera and insert into card reader, then hookup card reader to computer through USB port. Try Picasa3 free software from Google to download images. Works great and all is inexpensive

Camera Software

Hey EGrett,
I am providing a link below to the drivers for your camera. The manufacturer does not show a download of the software available for your operating system, but you could probably get a copy of it by calling Canon. I hope this helps!
