How do i upgrade my packard bell imax mini n3600? i want it to wrk better as a gaming computer

This is a media PC and not meant for hard gaming. My advice don't waste your money on this PC to turn it to a gaming PC. The components are all built-in onto the motherboard except for the RAM & HDD.

RAM compatibilty

No, DDR 400 will not work. The best thing you can do is call Dell and give them your information. Model number and that kind of information and let them tell you what kind of ram you need. If you put the wrong type of ram in your machine it could cause major damage. There are so many different kinds of memory out there, not to mention high and low denisity. Your machine may use PC2700 high density and if you try to use PC2700 low density it will not work. One other thing that you can try is uninstall a stick of your ram and write down everything on the stickers and then go to some place like kingston memory and use their memory locator to find what you need.

Windows xp sp3 maximum amount of memory

HI,
Of course it can be done, your computer can take up to 2BG of ram (memory) and the slots are located inside the computer tower like this >>>>>

Your motherboard will have 2 slots like in the picture and will take 2 x 1BG (1GB in each slot), just make sure you buy the correct speed and type memory so it's a good idea to take your memory with you when you buy is so there is no mistakes.

Good luck

Memory hardware problem

What kind of RAM did you install? If the RAM should match the speed-limits of your motherboard. So if your RAM speed is, say, 667MHz and your board will only use 400MHz or 533MHz, you will need to get the correct speed. Check your user guide for the correct specs of memory for your particular model systems. Good Luck.

PC Won't Start After Initial Post

make sure the ram is the same name of kind. if you can get the old computer on, hit the esc key and go in the bois and hit save, and restart. this should bring the computer back up. check the piggs (jumpers) on the motherboard to see if all are the same, more them around and try each one, I hope this will help you.
