I notice my lcd brightness has reduce now this is 2 years old this problem remains same on Dynamic picture mode as well i have check this by connect to a pc and to a DVD using HDMI port and i tested non energy saving mode as well if i change energy saving mode and the picture mode (dynamic , stranded or move mode ) brighteners level change but not as l early days

1 .Picture Mode: Explore different picture modes on your TV. Some modes might have preset configurations that affect brightness. Choose a mode that suits your preferences

2.Advanced Settings: Look for advanced settings or options related to color temperature, gamma, or dynamic contrast. Tinkering with these settings might provide more control over the display.

The brightness control does the dark parts of the picture. Contrast does the bright parts.

Take the TV off Dynamic mode and put it in to user mode.

Have you tried preset picture modes off TV's "picture" menu or "picture" on remote control unit. Most modern sets have "preset" modes: normal, vivid, natural, movie, sports, user, etc. Try to toggle between those modes. may be the one of those will look right for you. Make sure: "user" mode is for custo adjustments. You must choose desired settings: "picture(contrast)", "brightness", "color", "tint", "sharpness", "color temperature". May also have: DNR(dynamic noise reduction", "black level expansion", etc. I'd try presets, first and make notice of those settings. If that is, still not right to you, you may be able to tweak "user" mode the way you like it, based on info from other modes. If that won't help, you may have an issue with your TV.

Using Automatic Picture Settings
Your TV has Three automatic picture settings ("Dynamic", "Standard", "Movie") that are preset at the factory.
You can activate either Dynamic, Standard, Movie by making a selection from the menu.
1. Press the MENU button to display the menu.
Press the ENTER button, to select "Picture".
2. Press the ENTER button to select "Mode".
Press the ??² or ??¼ buttons to select the "Dynamic", "Standard", "Movie" picture
setting. Press the ENTER button.
?³ Choose Dynamic to increase the clarity and sharpness of the picture.
?³ Choose Standard for the standard factory settings.
?³ Choose Movie for a natural Image without picture enhancements.
3. Press the ??² or ??¼ buttons to select "Contrast", "Brightness", "Sharpness",
"Color", or "Tint(G/R)", then press the ENTER button.
4. Press the ??? or ??? buttons to decrease or increase the value of a particular item.
For example, if you select "Contrast", pressing the ??? button increases it.
Press the ENTER button.
Press the EXIT button to exit.
• When you make changes to Contrast, Brightness, Sharpness, Color, Tint(G/R)
the OSD will be adjusted accordingly.
• When in PC mode, Tint, Sharpness, and Color are not available.
Press the P.MODE button on the remote control repeatedly to select the desired

You are absolutely correct. The reason why you cannot change your audio and video settings are due to the fact that you are in "Dynamic Fixed". Which is one of your many av modes. Av modes are different preset color settings and dynamic fixed is the only one that will lock your settings. Best Buy set it that way so that people could not just come by and alter the settings on the unit. AV modes are on all sharp lcd products and even though you have the wrong remote you should have an av mode button on the remote that came with it. Try pressing the av mode button and see what happens. When you press the av mode button, you will see your av modes change at the bottom of the screen. However, the issue still remains that you have the wrong remote. So there is a chance that you may press the av mode button on the remote that you have, but it still will may not work ONLY because you have the wrong remote. If the remote you have does not work, I GUARANTEE that pressing the av mode button on the proper remote will take care of that. You can not access that mode without permission from Samsung.

it depends on what your using it for, adjust colour tones to what you think looks natural, contrast between 80-90, keep sharpness below 30. just have a play around till you find what best suits the source material.

It sounds like your TV is in Shop Mode.
Shop mode is a set of picture parameters that have been optimized for a store showroom or display floor. Shop mode does not allow you save any picture settings such as brightness or contrast.
To get the TV out of Shop Mode press and hold the Menu button on the front panel for three seconds, the picture will blank momentarily then reappear with “Dynamic Mode” shown on the screen. At this point the picture parameters can be changed and saved.
