Sound card not installed, tried with all sound drivers but sound is not coming from laptop. speaker icon not appearing in bottom left side corner of laptop model is presario CQ50

Please check the status of the minispeaker lower Rigth side of the screen. if disabled go tho devicemanager check the driver.

try either right click the speaker icon on the bottom right hand corner of the screen "open volume mixer" click :devices" and select the card you installed. if that fails, go to device manager and disable any other cards the the computer has so it wont conflict. if that fails take it into geeksquad at best buy to see what is going on.

First reboot, if you sound has worked before this may help. If not try a different file or you tube video it may be that the file doesnt have sound. Third mke sure your physical button on the laptop is turned up, and Fourth the speaker icon in the bottom right hand corner, if you right click it is it muted? Is it turned down? Get a file or disc that you know has sound on it and that has played before. If this still doesnt work it is a possibility that your audio driver has become corrupt. Try looking for an updated audio driver by using either that manufactures web site or the Microsoft Custom tab when you update windows.

Check if there is a button on the computer to disable/enable the sound. It usually has this symbol

• click on the volume icon on the right hand bottom corner of the screen and check if the mute is checked.
• right click on my computer>click on properties>click on hardware>click on device manager check the audio driver has been installed or not.
• try to download latest audio driver from the support site.
• connect external speaker and check if there is any sound,if you are getting sound you need to replace the internal speaker or need check the audio connection
• if you are not getting any sound on external speaker then computer has a faulty sound card
  

Go into the device manager and see if your sound driver is installed. If it is verify it by going into the control panel and where the sound icon is located make sure it puts the icon in bottom left hand corner of the screen. If it doesn't give you that option then that means your missing your sound driver.

The HP website has your sound card drivers, note that if your running windows 7 you can try installing the vista version of the driver.

Click on the operating system that your running and then on the next page, click on where it says driver-audio.

Download that driver and then click on it to install it. That should take care of your problem.

If it doesn't then its an issue with either the speakers or the motherboard.

driver is wrong.try to install sound card with original cd driver.

Go to Control Panel - System - Device Manager - Sound, video controllers and uninstall the driver. Restart your laptop and reinstall the sound card driver. Good luck.
