Benq DE350/De325 dvd player has a cd stuck and no matter what we have tried can not release it to open up and retrieve the stuck cd

I think I can help you. Before you do anything turn your computer all the way off. All you need is a small paper clip. Open the paper clip up so its a straight peice of wire. Now look at the face of your DVD Rom you should see a pin hole opening about the size that paper clip will fit in to. Push the paper clip in to that hole. Push firmly and your tray should pop open enough for you to pull it out the rest of the way.Now take out the stuck CD and start your computer back up the drawer should pull back in if it doesnt give it a slight shove and it will. After that you should be able to use your player again.

I hope this helps you out if it does please give me a YES on the page you recieved this response on. Thank you.

There is a disc stuck inside. I tried getting it out but now it wont even open up. It just makes a really loud clicking noise and then shuts off. Please help

There is a tiny hole in the front of the drive precisely to overcome this problem. Carefully straighten out a paper clip to give you about 1-half inches. Carefully introduce it into the hole and gently push until you feel resistance. This means the paper clip has touched the special release mechanism inside.
Pushing in a little further, you will find a little further resistance and then the drive will start to open a little. Keep pushing until about half an inch of the drive is exposed which will allow you to very carefully open the drive manually. It is perfectly safe to do this and is an accepted method with all 'stand-alone' CD/DVD ROM drives sold for installing in computers. Most CD/DVD ROM Drive manufacturers actually include a special, 3 inch long tool about the same dimension as a paper clip when you but a new drive.
Be careful and don't rush it.
Follow this procedure with the equipment completely switched OFF.
When you switch ON again, the drive will automatically close itself and you will be 'back in business'.
Good Luck

My dell studio 1737 keeps making clicking sound and wont eject tried my computer, tried funtion key not doing anything please help

It sounds like your CD/DVD rom is stuck or damaged. If the drive is empty, this means that something is wrong with the drive itself.

Often, you can use a paperclip that has been bent straight to open this. insert the paper clip into the tiny hole on the door pannel of your CD/DVD drive and most of the time it should pop right open.

if it does not pop open right away, I have seen situations where the disc becomes lodged inside the case and will not allow the door to open at all. This may require you to take your laptop to a repair facility and explain the situation to them.

If you are feeling very confident, you can try to remove the CD rom drive from your laptop, remove the outer casing and see if you can dislodge the disc that way.

Dvd cd rom not reading anything on my Dell computer

Having to use a paper clip instead of the eject button working could indicate a power source problem. Not reading anything on the drive could be either power source, connection cable or motherboard. I would start by removing the drive and checking all connections. You did not state if this is a laptop or desktop. If it is a desktop, there should be several unused power connections. If you do not have the ability to check the used connection, just switch to a different one. Also check the connection cable to the motherboard and if possible change or replace that. If all this fails, I would assume from a distance that the DVD drive is defective and try to replace it.

CD rom drive wont open!!!

Hi, it only means that the drive is already damage and you need to contact the manufacturer of your computer and verifiy if your computer is stil under warranty so that they can replace the drive with no additional cost but for some reason if you have physically damage the drive then you will be charge for the said repair so it depends on the warranty of the computer.

Hope this helps!!!

Thanks

Opening disk drive compartment

If you stll have this problem, then you might try a couple of things..

Firstly, a boot of the pc usually will allow the drive to be opened.. But I'm sure you have tried that.. So, there are a couple of other ways.. There is a small pin hole in the front of 'most' CD & DVD rom drives. This is used for emergency situations when the cd will not 'dismount'. Be careful here. Use a paper clip & insert it gently into the pin hole. Only use a light pressure & you should feel a small switch plate. Gently push it with the (extended) paper clip. It will switch the open button & should allow the drive to open. Thirdly, go to 'Start' (button), 'My Computer' highlight the CD rom drive (left mouse click) then right mouse select 'eject' from the menu options.. Actually, if you are still reading, do this first. If it fails, boot the pc & try it again, before using the paperclip method. good luck. Rgds,
