My IBM thinkpad A30 cant play sound after i formatted it

I have not experienced this with a T4X product., but I have experienced it with the older X600 series. I assume that your MB is password protected. If this is he case, you will need to have a ROM on your MB swapped out.

If anyone has a means of breaking into the MB, I would appreciate knowing about it.

you may have to take it in somewhere. sounds like motherboard failure on the power connection

In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD.

No all ibms dont have wifi built in,,check ibm website to see if your model does,,also jus search online ,,,ibm thinkpad a30 2652 did it come with wifi,,should find answers,,thanks,,goodluck

Try start up in Safe Mode press F8. Choose Safe Mode, when at the choice window, to select either Safe Mode Desktop, OR System Restore, chooses system restore and choose a time before you had the "Problem" and follow instructions. This should get you back.

the new video drivers require your Thinkpad to have BIOS version 1.14 or higher so update bios or download an older ati driver.

Here's a link to IBM's video drivers. You might have to try several before finding the right one. Keep in mind that it doesn't have to have your particular model listed in order to work properly.

Some of the older thinkpad had a program you from the OS or a boot floppy to had to run to get change the bios settings. But the BIOS key on most is F1. So if you press that key as soon as you turn the machine on and anything appears on the screen, and once you've provided the password you can then change the password to blank within the bios.

If you don't know the password at all, there may still be a way to reset it, but it may require a call to IBM/Lenov, or some other tedious process.
