Vertical lines in hp zd8000

What is happening to your laptop is the power line connecting a row of pixels is failing so only partial colors are showing up causing the vertical line. Usually screen replacement is the only answer to fix it. You can usually find replacement LCD on Ebay.

Move the screen around while on, do the lines disappear when you hold it in certain positions? If so, your LCD needs to be replace. If the lines don't disappear when bending the screen, it could be a broken motherboard as well. Youcan try to open the laptop and check the dc connection. There is a Laptop Repair Guide that shows you how to take apart a laptop, the sony may be made in a similar way. Sony Repair NYC

Vertical lines have appeared on my hp pavilion zd8000 can u tell me how to fix it please?

Connect an external monitor to your laptop. If the problem appears only on the display of the laptop and not on the external monitor in the same time that means the video card is ok and the problem could be : the screen of the laptop or the invertor or the cable that attaches the screen to the mptherboard. If the problem appears on both screens, external and laptop, most probably the video card/motherboard is defective.
Have it checked/repaired by a professional.

Same problem with my zd8000 HP Pavilion laptop

what has happened with your notebook is a simple wear factor. on the LCD screen there are ribbon cables witch join the main PCB controller head to the LCD laminated portion (what you see) have begun to wear. i have just recently replaced a screen because of the same issue. try gently flexing the the screen and see if the lines dissappear. next open the screen up, and check the cable running to the back of the screen take care as to not damage anything.

HP Pavilion Laptop - vertical lines on screen from top to bottom

this will more than likely be a video card issue. The bad news, on laptops, everything is integrated into the motherboard and and you will have to replace. Getting to the motherboard can be a pain.

ZD8000 pAVILION where is video card, can it be replace

You can not replace the video card in a laptop, it may not even be a card, but a chip. You will have to replace the motherboard in the laptop or replace the laptop.

HP Pavilion ZD8000 vertical lines issue

Hi,
In answer to your question. It may be a screen problem. as the screen has a Matrix of vertical and horizontal line configuration.
I,d suggest trying the laptop/computer on an external monitor or screen. if it works fine on an external. then it could be assumed that the TFT Panel or invertor has a fault.
if the picture/display still has vertical lines on an external monitor, then the fault may lie, with the Mainboard.

Process of elimination, before spending any Money :)
