Try turning your WII so that the dongle that comes with the game faces the skateboard. I had that same problem and this solved it.

SOURCE: board will not calibrate to

Don't use brand new batteries. Using older batteries makes the sensors less "sensitive". You will have to recalibrate every time you change batteries but at least you can use your product this way.

SOURCE: On the Wii, I can

Try turning the WII so that the sensor is facing the skateboard, without any obstruction. That worked for me.

SOURCE: Cannot calibrate Tony Hawk Shred

I had the same problem. I solved it and got the board to calibrate immediately when I replaced the brand new batteries with used batteries. Brand new batteries apparently make the lasers very sensitive. You have less sensitive sensors with the used batteries. I just took some AA's out of my cable remotes. The game is awesome once you get it calibrated. I felt your pain for an hour or so.

I have Tony Hawk Shred for Wii. I am trying to calibrate it. I am on the left side and it just won't calibrate. Any suggestions? Thanks, Karla

What worked for me after returning 4 times was to set the sensor settings in the wii settings to below the tv but put the sensor above the tv with 2 old and 2 new batteries

Cant calibrate tony hawk shred board to my wii. I've tried everything

At last! My Son's Tony Hawk Shred board was one more try from being thown down the garden, as i have been trying since Christmas day, & finally there it was a board i could use. I've followed all bits of advice in a number of differant ways --- here's what worked for me, Turn off at the wall Sky TV, Turn off all lights (only tv turned on), put my crutches in another room (because large metal objects interfere with soft ware), Remove dog from room, Put senser bar on floor, Turn Wii console side on so that Dongle faced away from tv (aiming into centre of room), Place Shred board on floor facing tv/senser at about three feet away. Start process of game set up untill you get to choose a profile, Select profile, press & hold for 5 secs start button on board untill the four blue lights start to flash at a rate of about one flash per sec, then hold on same button untill blue lights flash quickly, then press & hold Dongle button untill Dongle light stays on, with in 2 secs game calibartion instructions start, BEWARE Tony Hawks responce when process starts is as annoying as not being able to get board started. Good luck when up & running it is one Awesome game!

Tony Hawk Shred board will not calibrate. Help!

I had the same problem. I turned the WII so the dongle/sensor that comes with the game is facing the skateboard with a clear line of sight between the dongle/sensor and skateboard. Now it's able to calibrate. Hope this works for you.

We have tried everything to try and get the board to calibrate and can't get it to work any which way what should I do? It is the tony hawk shred board and game.

  • Be sure your board is a few feet away from any walls, furniture or other people.

  • Replace the batteries in your board (even if they were new).

If those didn't help, you can check the Answer Page specific to your platform:

Hope this helps you.
