The flashing light is probably the Voice Mail
Waiting Indicator. This is triggered by the
voicemail system operated by the Telephone
Service Provider which is a totally separate item
from your phone's Answering Machine System.
Talk to your Telephone Service Provider to
learn how to manage their voicemail. For
some, you are given a telephone number to
dial, a password or number to enter, and a
sequence to follow to play/save/skip/delete
the recordings stored there for you.
If you respond to this note with your specific
make & model number of cordless phone,
we might be able to tell how to reset VMWI
at the handset, but it is still necessary to
manage the voicemail system itself.
The Web Cam works with several different programs, not just the Sony software. Try other Video programs and if that fails to solve the problem; check with Sony Technical services. This company has an excellent service organization and they will walk you through the steps necessary to fix the problem. The Telephone number is listed on the documentation that came with the camera.

2) Then select the key where you want to program the feature.
3) Then enter *72 (optional: plus the telephone number of where you want the call to forward to).

Given that consumer telephones are inexpensive, the cost of repairing the speaker phone on the 960 (assuming you still have it) is probably not worth it.
Going off of my memory....to program a speed dial you would first press "Program", enter the telephone number you want stored and then press the one of the memory buttons to save the number to. If the number is to be saved on a lower memory position press "Lower" before you press the memory button.
