Toshiba Tecra A3 Bios Password, won't let me past any screen until password entered

1. try with clear cmos and remove AC adapter and main battery.
2. also pls try to remove the code with password re set web site or password remove tool in hiran boot cd

Using a computer with Internet access, download the files from these WEB sites and create a bootable CD disc to run them.

If you see a "password =" then you have a BIOS password - you have to get past that in order to have any boot sequence at all.

Some Toshiba bios passwords can be reset using the Key Disk.exe utility, to do this you need a 1.44Mb floppy disk.

Format the disk using Windows and then with a hex editor, change the first five bytes of the second sector to 4B 45 59 00 00.


Then put the floppy into your machine and boot it up, you’ll be asked for a password, just press Enter.

Then when you’re asked to set the password, type Y then Enter, this will get you into the bios configuration where you can then type in a new password.

you might need to reinstall your windows XP or you could have a hard disk problem.

I have a toshiba Laptop with Bios Password problem. I cannot start my system anymore, cos the laptop is requesting for Bios password which I dont know or have.

I'm not clear on your description, so here goes:

If it showed the Toshiba start screen, then asked for a password, then your hard drive is password protected.

If it showed the Toshiba screen, then asked for password, and you entered it, and then it goes "insert disk", then your hard drive is passworded and wiped.

If the first thing it does is ask for a password, then the password is in the BIOS.

Have you tried starting windows in safe mode? or did you try the other choice of last known good configuration?
