Samsung D840 Hiya My Samsung D840 is causing me problems. The buttons which switch it on/off and the control buttons will not work. Only the numbers will work. As my phone is switched off I now cannot switch it on and have lost all my numbers!! Help!!!

judging from experience although with a sony ericsson, the usual diagnosis for that problem would be the earpiece of your d840. There simply could've been a loose connection with it.
The same thing has happened to my D840. Very annoying as ive only had it 5 months. After a bit of research and asking around, ive found out that this is a very common fault with these phones. The ribbon inside which connects the screen to the main body of the phone is damaged due to sliding the phone open and closed. Surely they should sort this problem out if the main feature of the phone is to slide it open. Crap.
