KP-57WS500 My tv is turning off a few seconds after is turned on. The image is blur at the beginning untill it fades out totally and becomes black, remaining the sound. At the same time the red light on the front on the tv blinks all the time till tv goes off. Thanks for the help, Luiz Aramis Brazil

I have a Sony Trinitron HDTV (KV-36HS500) that turns off right after we turn it on. Sometimes if we leave the the unplugged for 3 days, when we turn it on, it works again. However, when we turn it off and turn it back on after 2 or 3 hours on the same day, you can just hear a big click and the TV will turn off right away.

My TV Will paly great for awhile then shut down-it seems to
be clicking on and off and the stand by light blinks-turn it off
and let it set for a few hours -turn it back on and it's fine sometimes a couple days then it shuts down.

I had this problem and at the same time I was getting blue tint. When the blue got darker, this would happen, Adjusted the voltage on the guns (3 screws in the front - lower panel off) and the blue went away and it stopped turning off. But later, it would start all over again. Same procedure, same fix.

Picture fade to blue

You can reduce the g2 for the blue tube
open the front grill and open the 4 screws hold the resister block
to have acess to the register block.
Then there should be the black box have 6 knobs
the one call for Blue g2 not the focus block.
Adjust it counterclockwise a little bit
and try turn on TV again

Picture comes on then fades to blue

Check the info from this website to see if you are able to fix your TV. You should turn the blue screen control down slightly counterclockwise. If that did not work, then more likely you have a video amplifier IC defective or a blue CRT.

The fault can be the high voltage multiplier, and or the main power supply, and or the CRT emission is very weak. It is possible to have faults in all these areas at the same time. As the TV ages and with use, various parts will wear out.

The cost to service this is usually fairly expensive. I would be seriously looking for a new TV set. You can take the set in for an extimate just to see what it will cost.

Sony kp-57ws500

You have a bad green picture tube. If you have warranty coverage good, if not then forget about it. Get a new TV.

KP-57WS500 TV FADES TO SOLID RED W/ LINES A FEW SECONDS AFTER I TURN IT ON

Red CRT is doing short circuit in the neck. You can try to open the front panel and to hit easy the neck with wood or something and to decrease the red screen a bit. If doesn't work then replace the CRT.
