My TV Sharp 37et-35s have sound but no picture. the high tension is no present. Could someone help me please?

Possible that the LOT- Line output transformer- is faulty as there is no HT to the tube.
You need to check from the SMPS to the horizontal driver section. check the + B voltage to the horzontal driver and the LOT. It can be an open fuse or resistor.

Screen is turning purple and green dose this cost lots to fix?

It sounds like your tube Shadow Mask may have got magnetised and need to be degaussed.

Turn off your TV at the mains and unplug it for at least two to three hours. Longer the better. After that time power up your TV it should degauss the tube at power up.

Worth a try before you give up on it. Or else get your picture tube replaced. It may be more economical than purchasing a new television. Also try to have the picture tube of an old color T.V as modern picture tubes lacks quality when compared to older ones. But check those tubes thoroughly before buying it.

Flat line on Toshiba tube tv

It could be the vertical output IC, but there may be other possible causes which include:

- bad solder contacts on deflection yoke connectors or dirty connector contacts (on the circuit board and / or on the picture tube neck)

- bad solder contacts on the vertical output IC or associated components (check for little cracks in the solder around the pins, these are so called "cold" or bad / broken contacts)

- power loss to the vertical output IC - check for any burned resistors or other components around that IC, assuming you know which one it is - see which ICs are connected to the wires going to the deflection yokes (coils) on the picture tube neck and check them well.

You need to resolder any bad contacts, clean any dirty pins on the connectors and replace any burnt out components (assuming you can still determine the type or value of the component).

Since you mentioned the problem occurs once in a while, this means that the IC probably fails when it warms up, which can often happen if there are loose connections or bad solder contacts.

Anyway, it could turn out to be a faulty IC, i just suggested a few other things that can be fixed quite easily, and possibly without the need to replace any of the components.

Samsung le40a lcd - picture quality

Hi - I have some suggestions. The following factors effect picture quality:
1. Source (because LCD TVs have much higher picture quality than traditional CRT "Tube" TVs, the worse your source material, the worse it looks on a LCD TV).
DVD and Sky/Digital TV should look excellent on this TV when connected with a good quality Scart lead (nothing too expensive, but a Oxygen Free Copper Gold lead may help) directly into one of the TV's Scart inputs (avoid using "switching" boxes for multiple equipment).
Also, bear in mind that this is a HUGE screen (40 inches I think) and will REALLY show up bad source material.
The best advice I can give is, if you have HD-ready equipment use HDMI connections for everything (ideally with an HD-uplscaling DVD player which will "improve" the quality of standard DVDs on the TV - I recommend models by Philips) and check that you are in "Movie" or "Cinema" mode on the TV.
Make sure that all of your equipment, like your Sky digibox, is set to 16:9 mode (not 4:3) aswell to preserve the true widescreen aspect ratio.
Hope that helps!

Sharp 27G-S60 no vertical picture

your problem is due to vertical section failure.

as you say it was intermittent for a while, but now is permanent

please check the followings as given

  • remember you should keep brightness as low as possible to avoid crt burn.
  • there might be loose contact in print or connector loose for deflection coil.
  • check supply to vertical output section
  • check components in vertical output section like electrolytic capacitors & low value resistirs.
  • check verical outout ic .
  • hope this will help
  • good luck.

Hissing Sound

A hissing sound that comes from the back of the set (not from the speaker) usually indicates a high voltage leak, most likely around the "suction cup" at the top of the picture tube or around the flyback transformer. Remove the back of the set and turn it on, and when you hear the hissing sound, shut off all the lights in the room and you should be able to see a purple-ish or white-ish glow from the spot that is hissing. Shut the set off, discharge the high voltage and clean and seal the problem area. Of course this should be done by someone experienced with stopping high voltage leaks.
