Epson GT 9000

Its working perfectly with Epson 2400U drivers.

• Download and install the Perfection 2400U drivers from Epson USA, version 3.04A http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/s...rm=OSF_W_10-64
• Connect and turn on your scanner
• Run Device Manager
• The Perfection 1200U will be shown under under Other Devices
• Select Update Driver
• Choose 'Browse my computer for driver software"
• Choose 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'
• UNCHECK the 'Show compatible hardware'
• Click on 'Epson' in the Manufacturer box, and the scroll down through model until you find "Epson Perfection 2400', and choose that, and press Next
• Ignore the 'Update Driver warning - choose 'Yes'; to continue to install.
• The Perfection 2400 will now be shown in Device Manager. Note that the Perfection 1200 will still be shown under Devices & Printers
• Run Epson Scan and test the scanner. You may need to log out and log in again for program to work

were you using it under windows xp? if you have 32 bit windows 7 I would try those same drivers. Unfortunately the filmscan 200 came out under windows 95/98 and so Epson never released XP drivers and some people were able to make it work.
I would consider connecting it to an older computer running windows 98 and then transfer the files as you scan them (this would definitely be the least painful)
If you have 64 bit windows 7 I would not even waste the effort, 32 bit is a long shot maybe.
Do you have scsi drivers on the the windows 7? because the filmscan 200 is a scsi 2 device

I do not see this scanner on the Epson support site. They may not have a Win7 driver. You could try an XP driver in the compatability mode (right click on the driver and select Properties and the Compatability tab. Check the box next to Run in compatability mode) You can download a driver from a site like this one, http://download.cnet.com/EPSON-GT-7000/3000-2118_4-73143.html .

Another possibility is available in Win7 Pro and Ultimate. Download and install the XP mode from Microsoft. Install the scanner in the virtual XP computer. You may need to save files to external media to transfer them between the two computers.

When installing, select the driver inside the 2000 folder. It works in XP. You may have to install via the device manager.

There are no drivers for this scanner (to use with Vista). This scanner is outdated and Epson has discontinued their support for this scanner.
New technologies emerge with time and this causes old ones to become obsolete. There are new scanners available with much better resolution and scanning speed.
I understand that this scanner has, and maybe still, doing your job but please try to understand that only the original equipment manufacturer can provide the drivers; if they can't probably no one else can.
However, drivers for Win XP are available for free download. Please click here to visit the download website.
Vista has a large database of generic drivers. Maybe it will pick this scanner up and install so you are still be able to do basic scanning.

I got mine working on Windows 7 (x64) by doing the following:
1. Download the Windows 7 Epson Scan driver for the Perfection 2400 from the epson site 2. Install the drivers 3. In Start Menu->All Programs->Accessories right-click Notepad and select Run as administrator 4. In Notepad File->Open and browse for the es27.inf file located in C:\Program Files (x86)\epson\escndv\es0027 5. On line 51, 54, and 57 replace PID_011B with PID_0101 6. Save the file. 7. Connect and turn on the scanner. 8. In Device Manager (Start Menu, right-click Computer, select Properties, Device Manager) right-click the scanner and select Update Driver Software->Browse my computer for driver software 9. Select the location of the modified INF file (C:\Program Files (x86)\epson\escndv\es0027 Include subfolders checked). 10. Say ok to the window that pops up and it should start installing the drivers.
In Photoshop you should then be able to import using WIA-Epson Perfection 2400 (importing with Epson Perfection 2400 causes Photoshop to freeze)

Once it is installed on Windows XP you can change the setting in properties to run Windows 98 compatible. It used to work with older scanners and printers. Try it out.

unfortunately Epson has not made a driver for this scanner that is compatible with Vista and from the looks of it, they don't seem to have any plans on making one!

The driver listed on the web for 2K is compatible with XP.

1) Go to the website http://support.epson.com
2) Under the SCANNERS heading select Epson Perfection Series and then your scanner model.
3) Under the Drivers & Downloads section select Windows. Download the most current driver for your Windows operating system.
4) Follow prompts through survey and license agreement. Choose to SAVE this file to your DESKTOP.
5) When the download is complete, double-click on the Epson icon on the desktop. This will automatically extract the files and begin the SETUP.
6) Follow the prompts to install the scanner, and click on FINISH when prompted.
7) At this point reconnect the scanner to the computer.
8) You will see an ADD NEW HARDWARE WIZARD. Make sure INSTALL THE SOFTWARE AUTOMATICALLY (Recommended) is checked and click NEXT.
9) If a message appears indicating THE SCANNER HAS NOT PASSED WINDOWS LOGO TESTING, click CONTINUE ANYWAY. Then click FINISH.
10) Your scanner is now installed. Restart your computer before testing.
