Grub loading stage 1.5.,Grub loading please wait,Then it say Error-18

Because Grub has to fit in a small space on the disk, there is no room for helpful error messages, but 'Error 18' translates as 'Selected cylinder exceeds maximum supported by BIOS'. In other words, your BIOS - which initializes hardware - is unable to handle a hard drive this large. Windows is able to boot because the Windows partition is at the start of the distro's disk, within the area handled by the BIOS. This is not a limitation of Linux, which hasn't even started to load, but your hardware. You would see the same problem if you tried to install two versions of Windows, say 98 and XP. There are a few ways to deal with this.

When I turn on my laptop I get a GRUB loading , please wait ... Error 22 What can I do ?

GRUB is the boot loader, it's corrupted. It can't be fixed without special disks so in your case the easiest way is to reinstall.

Computer wont boot, recovery disk doesn't work after reinstalling it says an error has occurred.

There are two ways, choose which is suitable for you: 1) If you deleted a Linux partition and want to get rid of GRUB: - Insert your Windows CD. - In your BIOS settings, select boot from CD/DVD. - After the welcoming screen, type R (to enter the Recovery mode). - At the console (command-prompt/terminal) type: fixmbr - Everything should run fine after that. 2) If you installed Linux and have a problem with GRUB: - Insert your Linux distro CD. - In your BIOS settings, select boot from CD/DVD. - Enter the Live desktop and open a terminal. - Type: sudo grub -Type: find /boot/grub/stage1 (You might receive more than one location. Select the one you want to install GRUB onto) - Type: root (hd?,?) (Where "?" is the location you want to install GRUB) - Type: setup (hd0) (This is to install GRUB onto mbr) - Type: quit (To exit grub) - Reboot and everything should be fine.

What is grub error 17? how to fix it?

Its GRand Unified Bootloader used in Linux OS.
Normally you get this error when GRUB is not able recognise the partition from which you are trying to boot the system. Make sure the boot partition on your system is recognisable by GRUB (such as EXT3).

You can try to restore the GRUB using the LIVE CD
  1. Boot From Live CD
  2. Open Terminal Window
  3. type >sudo grub
  4. then type : find /boot/grub/stage1
  5. you'll get something like: (hd0, 1)
  6. then type : >root (hd0, 1)
  7. type: > setup (hd0)
  8. >quit
  9. >exit
Remove the Live CD and reboot the system.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Reformatted hard drive won't boot

The grub loader is for linux, what it is telling you is that the file the boot loader is looking for was not found (that would be the case because you just reformated it). grub will also complain and fail to boot if the boot file is located past track 1024 (wich would be the case if you installed a significantly larger hard disk). I think what you need to do is delete all the partitions using windows (or dos)
re partition the drive (that will usualy reload the standard boot loader) and see what happens. if you need to install linux then install it on the first partition.

Ucode error

The bios needs to load a patch table that supports your processor. Go to the ASUS website and ensure that processor capatibility with your MB, and if there is a BIOS update for it.
