I have a Samsung SL620 which has worked perfectly for several years. Now when it's turned on, all you see on the screen and on the last picture taken are distorted red/purple/black vertical lines.

if it is ok for take a picture? if lcd screen is red and picture is not clear, probably it is the problem of camera sensor. You need change it.

Try a different card (you can buy one and return it if that doesn't fix the issue).
Maybe your card is full.
Maybe your card is installed incorrectly.

Look at the front of the lens....are the lens covers opening fully?

Mine come out blurred most of the time, unless it's outside with lots of light.

Sadly, the average digital cameras need that time delay to focus and adjust for light conditions and such.
You could press the button without waiting for this, but the camera will do its own thing, like take its time to focus and adjust and then take the picture.

The Manual setting could help a bit if you always stayed at the same distance and in the same light conditions, but you'd have to preset everything. Not enough time for that, right?

Does your camera have the feature where you can take several pictures in quick succession?
I have a Kodak Z712-IS and it is capable of doing it, but I'd have to use ESP to know when to start snapping pictures, and hopefully one comes out OK.

Look at the memory card itself. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

HI there your camera lens sensor are damaged. In side the camera a microprocessor are attached in circuit board You need to replace that. After that your problem will solve. Thanks & waiting for your feedback.

ummmm....that would be a cracked screen, you could a. sent it in for repair. B. get a new camera. or C.click the shutter and hope for the best with each photo.

The same thing just happened to my camera and I have no idea what could've caused it. I mean, I have dropped it a few times but not recently. And now everything is like pink, orange, red, and purple and all blurred and misshapen... Included is a picture of my camera screen. I hope there is another solution besides just getting it replaced!
