I am having clarity issues with my sony cybershot camera when I get my pictures back, they are blured, or just ok not a crisp clear picture. I have tried shooting my pictures with being on the green "camera" diagram, they are worse I have tried shooting on landscape they are better but it's almost like the camera doesn't know what to focus on.

Make sure macro focus is not on-look for flower icon on screen-if flower is on remove by pressing flower button and turn off-only for extreme close up work macro

The camera is affected by the CCD issue and it has a recall where you can get repaired for $20(shipping charges) instead of $161. Attached is the link of CCD issue.

1) Make sure that you're not using more than 4 GB memory stick pro duo with the camera. Then try to remove the memory stick and capture 2 images in the internal memory and turn OFF and turn ON the Camera and check. If the error message comes, its the issue with the Camera itself and requires service after resetting. to reset the Camera, select Initialize under Main Settings 1 menu under Settings. if the issue persists, the camera may require service
If its working fine, transfer all the images to the Computer and format the memory stick. Formatting will delete all the contents. If the issue persists, memory stick should be replaced.
Please reset the Camera to the default settings to resolve this issue. To reset the Camera, please click the Menu button, then select Setup1 and select Initialize and click OK.

Hi I bought a new 1MB memory card for this camera and was dismayed to find that the screen went completely blank - I couldn't do anything!!!! It was my sons graduation so had to buy another camera! But, have just resolved this issue by pressing the bottom right-hand side of the screen with a rubber topped pencil - it works!!!! This camera may be old and chunky but it still takes amazing pictures. Hope it works for you too.
I'm assuming you purchased a Sony as replacement. If that's the case, take it back and ask for a new one or have it checked out. Something sounds horribly wrong to me.
If by chance you got one of those Chinese/Taiwanese cameras. Give it away and go back to the P72.
Of course, a few hours reading the manual and playing with the camera may solve your problems. Don't try to get fancy first off. Stick with Auto modes until you get a feel for what you're doing. If you are using Auto the go back to the first sentence :-)
