DEAR SIR,

MY HCL LAP TOP IS NOT ACCEPTING HDD AS IT DISPLAYING MESSAGE IN FDISK UTILITY NO HDD FOUND. IF I TRY TO INSTALL XP ON THIS LAP TOP IT RUNS INSTALLTION SEGMENT NO.1 AND NEVER SWITCH OVER TO SEGMENT NO.2 AND 3. KINDLY GIVE THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM.

Aslong as the hard drive is atleast 10GB (to allow for updates and additional programs etc), and your laptops RAM is at least 128MB (preferrably 256MB or above), then you can run XP without issue (my laptop is only a 550Mhz w/320MB Ram and runs XP Pro without any issue). If your laptop does meet the above, simply insert the Windows CD when you turn it on, and it should boot from it. If not, insert the CD once Windows loads, and you can perform the installation from there.

Sorry to say Sir but there is only one way you can download drivers for your HCL Leaptop G3817 and that is on HCL website. Because you have to give your specific serial no. and IMEI no of your notebook.

So just go to http://www.hclleaptops.in/
and follow the instruction for the registration of your product and you will get your drivers.

Or you should have specified your problem like whether your notebook was Vista loaded or your IMEI no. etc.

Remove vista and install XP on HCL laptop
Your laptop probably has SATA hard disk installed in it. You will need to install from an XP SP2 or later CD for native SATA support. Otherwise you will need to get the SATA drivers for the chipset being used on the laptop and slipstream them onto a new bootable CD or go through the process of adding the drivers manually during the initial phase of the installation.

Assuming you are running XP.

If it hasn't installed the device ,
uninstall device and reboot then restart
device should autofind and self install
reboot to save settings,Update SP2 also....
