My screen resolution is stock at 640x480 and i cant adjust it.. how will i adjust my resolution to fit my monitor.. and when i open my cam its getting darker and all the pictures even in friendster or...

Install graphic driver .
If already installed then uninstall old driver then install again.
when you power up the computer pressF8 key then enter in enable vga mode then change screen resolution to 1024*768 then aply and ok

I have an advent built in cam.....how to change its settings?????

well in vista you cant use the camera without opening something like windows movie maker or other third party software,but in xp ou can go to "my computer" and select the cam from the list, and not too many webcams have brightness adjustments unless they utilize a third party software....the lighting i based on what you have in the room. hope this helps at least a little :)

Hi,
You have to install your web cam to your computer so that the computer can detect your cam. Just follow the procedure of installing your cam from cd installer.

If it is a Microsoft cam, as you stated in title, then download the software from here: Software Download

If it is a different cam, then post the problem again here Solve Your Problem telling make and model number of your webcam.

It need to reinstall the web cam.

Visit the Microsoft hardware support page

http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=ICE&type=LifeCam&sku=68A-00001

Fill in the details and click 'GO'

Click on the link:-
"Microsoft LifeCam Readme and Troubleshooting Information"

All the information you require should be found here, Including the latest software to download and Customer Support
Check out any additional software you have to download as well as the Lifecam.

Procedure
Close all programs while uninstalling - downloading and uploading software
Disconnect your webcam
Uninstall the current webcam software on your computer
Restart computer
Download the Installation package from Microsoft
Run the installer and choose your options when prompted
Connect your webcam when prompted.
