How do i get rid of viruses for free - Computers & Internet

The best way to get rid of a virus is not to get them in the first place by running Internet Security Software. My favorite is Kaspersky Internet Security, I've never had a virus and I go on all sorts of websites.

Since you already have a virus, here are some things that you can do to get rid of it:
First, buy a professional anti-virus software program or download a free one. My favorite free anti-virus software program is AVG Antivirus.

If you cannot install a software program because the virus is so bad, you can try an online virus scanner. My favorite is Bit Defender's online scanner. It is free to use.

Sometimes viruses turn out to be a result of something other than a virus like Malware, Spyware, or Adware. These nasty problems are not always caught by anti-virus programs, so you may need a combination of an anti-virus program and Malware Bytes (also free) to get rid of your problem.

There are several programs designed to get rid of viruses. Ccleaner has a free trial program. AVG and Avast I believe also offer trial programs. I have had good success with Ccleaner and AVG. You can google to search for other cleaners as well.

Firstly you must have virus protection on your computer. There are plenty of free anti virus software on the internet. Avira, AVG No need to accept the extras that come with the download. Or Windows Security Essentials seem to do a good job. Run the program and find out what type of virus it is. Do some searches on the internet and find out the best way to get rid of it. Sometimes the best way is the easiest way. Maybe , just your anti virus software is enough. Free Malwarebytes is also a must to install on a windows OS. Personally I will not surf the internet if I do have anti virus software and Malwarebytes.

Start your computer in safe mode to start with, and try to run your anti virus from there. If you do not have Av software go to Avast.com this is THE best FREE Av software on the net. Then Go to malwarebytes.com for their free one time test software these two together should find and rid your computer of most any virus. Next is to try and search the net for a specific solution to the virus you have.

If you have Malware and need to get rid of it, Malwarebytes is excellent and free, but you have to pay if you want it to constantly monitor your computer. The free version is just for removing Malware that has already made it onto your computer

Maybe. All the OS viruses will be gone, but if you have MBR viruses, you won't get rid of those. Try Microsoft Security Essentials, it's free. Download it and scan your computer.

This issue can occur if your computer is infected with a SubSeven Trojan virus (per, Microsoft).

Run a virus scan and rid of all viruses, malware, etc.

If you have a free antivirus, remove it and install a free trial of Kaspersky. This will rid the virus. You can then uninstall Kasperky and install the free one after removal of trojan.

You should have an antivirus program always running on your computer. If you have one it should be able to get rid of the virus. If you don't have one or you have one but it can't get rid of the virus, try AVAST. It is free at http://www.avast.com. Once you install avast, it will want to run a sweep before your computer restarts. That is the best way to get rid of a virus, before the virus is activated.

grisofts avg version 7.5.516/1227 should take care of that.. it's on their virus index for january 15th..

avg free should get rid of it..
download & run the scan.

I you have a anti-virus software installed run the scan utility to identify and get rid of it, otherwise go to the link below and download a free edition from AVG Grisift (Download both anti-virus and anti-sypware). Install it , update it (its free), and scan your system to remove the trojan.
