42 LG Plasma

Hi I have a LG RZ42px11 there are 6 vertical thick black lines running down the middle off the screen, when cold the TV seems OK but if it has been on for around 10mins or on standby the lines stay on screen.

ONE OF TWO THINGS, THE LINE COULD POSSIBLY BE FIXED WITH A SCAN BOARD, BUT NOT LIKELY, PROBABLY NEEDS A SCREEN REPLACED, THE OTHER RED STUFF CAN BE FIXED WITH A X-BOARD REPLACEMENT, BETTER OFF TO BUY A NEW TV

How old it ur tv,ur plasma bulbs might need be replace.Could be the plasma tube it bad because long times use.But ur plasma screen it self could damage kind radiation not worth repairing.
U alway make deal with the repair man come out for estimate.Cost u like u repair with him.
Make sure ask him come out for no cost some charge $40 come out.

Another "same probelm"

My set has encountered this magical 50/50 split screen and it seems to be quite a problem since I am not the only one researching this issue. LG was of no use because of course it is just out of warranty. Any solutions on fixing this or am I out of money in buying a new plasma?

either the address board or the panel has gone bad.
the problem is that many times the address board is part of the panel. if it is under 2 years old you need to
get with lg and push for a new panel

My Hitachi TV Flat screen 42 EDT 4 1A has a one inch black line from the top to the bottom of the
screen on the left side. What or how do I fix it. I did blow it out with a air compressor as suggested by a local repairman.

Have you tried with a new scart or htm lead?

if you can still see the picture its most likely the control board that's going bad, you will still need a tech out to fix the issue.

Try the scan PCBs that run down the side and the connectors that hook them up to the rest of the system. That would be my first place to start.

Unfortunately I don't have service manuals for non-european models. What is the date of manufacture?
