I need to buy a replacement key for my Sylvania gnetbook 13001. Unfortunately, since Sylvania isn't a common manufacture...sites that sell replacement keys don't list them. Is there any netbook that uses the same size and type of keys? If so, make and model. Thanks.

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. I have been using a program called www.DriverWizard.org I used it on alot of older compters and it has been 100%. Good luck. I did research on that computer tons of people been having trouble with the drivers.

im getting a black screen when i turn netbook on

unfortunately the clips that hold a laptop key down are very small and delicate, and very easy to break.. if it has simply popped off.. it will take a little inginuity to get it back on, but it isnt impossible.. usually they have 2 arms with little pop on clips that are very small.. you can get it back on if you have very steady hands and a very small pair of tweezers, but if it has broken the clips.. theres not much hope for it im afraid, you might be up for a new keyboard.. which can be ordered through the manafacturer, but depending on which manafacturer also determines the price..

visit driversguide dot com, u register and search for ur driver by name and model.

you have to go into setup and look at the boot order, if usb isn't there, you can't do it. If it is, then here is a forum that tells you how. http://articles.techrepublic.com.com/5100-22_11-5928902.html

it should tell you what key to press to get into the setup on the first screen that comes up when you first turn it on.

Try hitting control alt f2 to get to a linux prompt, then enter passwd to change the password.
Also I found that if I got on the network with an ethernet connection first then I could get my wifi working in my house. You may also want to learn the bash shell commands for future maintenance on this computer.
A little candle icon appears in upper right corner when its connected when its connected.
