I wanted to know what kind of external power supply it needed. I open the case and saw 4 diodes which tells me is a bridge rectifier circuit. I also looked at the filter cap and saw ????uF at 28 volts. Therefor, I did the Scientific Wild *** Guess( A.K.A. SWAG METHOD) 12 volts AC out at 1.6 amps or higher.
If this happens when its not connected to the puter or any input or at any volume then its the capacitors in the power supply are drying up. You need to replace them. Good luck
