Connection problems I was wondering if anyone can help me. I have just bought a Philips HDTV plasma and a Panasonic SC-PT760 home theater system. Each works independently, but I can't get the t.v. to play off the sound system and I have already tried adding the audio red and white cables. I am using HDMI cables from the HD DVR to the tv as well as a HDMI cable from the Panasonic sound system to the t.v. I have tried to add the audio cables from the panasonic to the t.v. with no results. Please help!!! Also, how can I get them to all run off of one remote? There's no remote codes in any of the manuals. Thank you so much for your help!

I have a samsung theater system HT-Z510 and have not been able to get the system to interact with the TV (samsung plasma). The theater system work fine with a dvd but not with the tv. Don't find any section in the manual that addresses the problem.

    Thank, Jack

Yah that optical port thing didnt work at all. I tried plugging in both the hdmi and the yellow video plug but nothing. it still works seperately and won't pick up tv audio. also, the wireless back speakers have the green light but the speakers do not work as well.

what you need to do is look at you HD DVR box and see if you have an "optical" port on the back then check and make sure your home theater box has an "optical" port. if they do all you have to do is go to radio shack and pick up an audio OPTICAL cable and go between your HD DVR and your home theater box.

I just bought a dvd home theater system sc-pt760 and i have a 42 inch LG flat screen and the sound wount work on AUX for the TV

Are you using the HDMI connection on both units, the SC-PT760 does have a HDMI input Yes/NO ? If not then it has HDMI output to the LG for HD Picture. What I would do if no HDMI INPUT to the SC-PT760 is available, run out of the TV with the Digital connection into the SC-PT760 Digital Audio in, assign the input as tv and you shoild get TV audio out of your home theatre, you could also use the analog connection audio out of the tv to the home theatre but this would not yield a dolby digital sound.

Problems connecting phillips tv to panasonic sc-pt660 home theate

I just bought a sc-pt660, I have a philips tv too, the TV only available output is digital coax but the home theater only has digital optical input, you may buy a digital coax to optical converter like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Go-Coaxial-Optical-Converter/dp/B0002J2MV4/ref=pd_cp_e_3?pf_rd_p=413863501&pf_rd_s=center-41&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000I98ZQY&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1BS8MKCZ1CWQR071S8RN

Alternativelly you can also use the headphone output that is near the side input in the TV and buy an RCA adapter like this one from radioshack: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103225

Panasonic sc-pt760

LOL if you just paid good honest hard earned cash for it i would certainly take it back. You might get a few freebies in the process. If you never broke it, Dont try and fix it because you will be held responsible for any damage they deem fit to blame you for.

Sc-pt760 "chgr err"

For panasonic sc-pt760, if the DVD player is busted, you can't access the option to switch to Digital in. With Digital in, you can still use the unit as a sound system by feeding it through the optical input from your TV.

but, the trick, You can't access the switch menu without an ipod. For some reason, you can switch from an Ipod to your D-in. You can't switch out of AM/FM to d-in as it tries to access the broken DVD first.

Need Help

Sounds like you have a loose cable. Check that the connection is really in well. If the problem continues I would get a new set of cables, especially if you are using the ones that came with the receiver or dvd player.

Panasonic HDMI surround system problem

The HDMI cable connection on your system is a video out to your TV.
To get audio from the TV so you can hear it through the system, you need to add a cable from the audio out of your TV to the "aux" input on the panasonic system.
This is most likely a red and white connection which will give you stereo, or pro-logic surround from the home theater system.
