Hi bonkuman,

To my knowledge the Motorola HT1000 is not a trunk system radio, it is as a "conventional" 16 channels two-way radio. Motorola classifies this radio as intended for Government & Enterprise. In my country, we call them "Commercial" radios as oppose to "Amateur" radios. In a way, yes they may be termed "professional" as their claimed performance and durability exceeds those of other radios. Incidentally, the Motorola HT1000 has been discontinued and was replaced with the PR1500.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

MTS non trunking made into a trunking system

Trunking radios are controlled by logging on to a central control - for use unless you have a trunking network with repeaters set up (costs a lot of money) stick to the non trunking versions - they can be reprogrammed to your frequencies and are very useable. without connection to a trunking network the Trunk versions would be better used as a door stop as they are very limited for re-use

I have a motorola Ht 1000 i need to no how to program it with the keypad only...

The HT1000 is not keypad programmable. The HT1000 is dealer programmable using a radio interface box (RIB), cable, the appropriate Motorola propietary software. A sister radio named the JT1000 can be made keypad programmable with an accessory called a programming key.

Best regards.
