Mine is a Kleenmaid LWK74AWMFG in 2002 Made by Speed Queen. I could not lift it off using the above tips until I filled the bowl by setting on "Hot Water Wash" this expanded the plastic and after draining the bowl some to grip the agitator lifted of easily reveling the Hex screw head. Bingo

How can i get the agitator off a speed queen modle number AWN412SP111TW01

If its a standard top loader there should be a cap you can pry off on top of agitator. Screw or bolt is under cap.

How do I remove the agitator on a speed queen washer model # aws17nw

It has a large nut under the cap on the top of the agitator, but it will be the devil to remove due to a tight fit and corrosion.

Smell coming from AWN32 speed queen top loading washer

All washing machine "smell" when the lid is left closed for more than one day. If it is really bad it might be something inside the body of the machine or something caught under the agitator.
Inside the body work. Unscrew the three screws at the bottom of the front panel. Lift the bottom of the panel forward and up. Remove. Make sure the machine is unplugged and switched off before reaching into the body work. Look for something "smelly"
Agitator - switch off and unplug - depending on the model unscrew the top cap on the agitator. Some models do not have an screw cap although it might look so. Reach with both hands into the machine and grab the agitator at it bottom flanges hands opposite each other. Pull up hard - it does not let go easily- make sure it doesn't have a top screw cap. To replace just push back until it clicks or replace and tighten the top cap.

Just bought a speed queen top loader model LWS 17

that top cap/container on top of the agitator is for fabric softner if you use it. As to why it wont spin possible overload or if you bought a second hand machine could be a belt or gearbox ??
Suggest you put the detergent in the bowl, the fabric softner on top of the agitator, drop the clothes in till it's full not pushing down on the clothing - the weight rating of the washer is for wet clothes weight not dry clothes. If this doesn't get you going in the right direction then call someone who knows what their doing, it's too good a machine to risk stuffing it if you dont know what your doing

#awm693w,removing agitator to replace seals

Unscew the cap on the top of the agitator, then hit it back and forth with your hand and it will break loose. I just did it to mine today and it has not been of for twenty years.

Spots on white clothes

This is from not enough HOT loads.

Fatty deposits gather between the basket and tub during COLD washes.

Then they are being released in large numbers when you do your whites on HOT.

It is recommended to do 1 HOT load per week.

Do an empty load with some degreaser added (like Goo-Gone) on the fullest/hottest setting you have.
