After you unlocked your blackberry, reset your phone to default factory setting. Then put your new sim card on that phones and take a look for network signal on your blackberry screen. If there is no sign of signal on your screen maybe you didn't success to unlock your phones. Please check your blackberry bold 9700 unlock code, are you entering the right code. And if your screen show a signal network it's maybe you need to upgrade your blackberry os. It means your blackberry unlock code is right but you have some problem in your blackberry os.

Within the menu of the BlackBerry, one can set up the red, green and indeed blue led to do various functions, for instance, my BlackBerry used to have a green led on permanently to show that it was receiving data from the transmitters.
Select what function you require it to do. When you have sussed out how to adjust it, you may find it a usefull function.

I don't think this is a phone problem.Bad signals is caused by network provider or probably you are in an area where signals is poor. But i don't think its a phone problem. Try leaving your area and go to another area and see if the problem still persists. Then you could see a Blackberry technician.

When there is no signal around ur blackberry will shut off the radio instead of constantly searching for one which really kills battery power just make sure you arent in a real signal dead area and you should be fine to turn it back on just go to manage connections and click it back on,if this is not the problem then there might be some problem with ur phone.

Now if this isn't exactly the problem you are having then it could be your phone or your network I would call up your network first though to see if they are having problems in your area.

You need to take the phone to a mobile service tech and have them diagnosed the board and service it to correct these issues.

Also the phone signal is not active that is why it goes to VM

I had this same problem as well. It was after I upgraded the OS I had the issue with my LED red light on constantly. I figured out it was the colorpearl application because it is not compatible with the new 4.5 OS.
